Pull the exhaust manifold and check the ports. If it's smoking that bad you might be able to see the oil coming down the valve stem or stems.

Sounds like you got a mower deck problem. Your not using mulching blades are you. Also are the exhaust vents on the vac units open and flowing air. I have a Cyclone rake and that thing does a super good job of sucking up leave and grass clipping plus walnuts and hickory nuts that go thru the mower.

Go look at it and look it over good and see how it runs. I wouldn't worry about the 3000 hrs. Looks like a nice taken care tractor from the picture.

I just mow my drive when I mow the lawn. The grass and weeds help keep the stones in place and helps to keep the drive from washing.
