well managed to get this far, got the pulley off to expose the seal. had a suggestion of screwing 4 screws around the seal and gently prying but it's a very small lip and can't really get a straight angle. Hoping we have a tech on here that can help me with this!

Thanks for the reply. I'm hoping one could do it that way but I believe the seal rides on the crankshaft collar which may also be worn meaning one would have to remove the gear cover.
