    Bought a second 425

It started right up and then died. Every time I try to start it, it fires briefly sending out a cloud of smoke, then dies. Thanks! I'll have to clean out the filthy beast so I can see. My hose is like yours; only one fitting. I'll have to check and see if the new one is any different.

    Bought a second 425

I bought my second 425 a while back and I guess it was good timing; my faithful 1999 425 just died. It goes into the shop on Monday to diagnose the problem. It has been burning oil and now won't run. The new 425's are sure different. I don't care for the steering wheel angle, but the...

    Kubota L39tlb 200 hr service

I've had this tractor for quite a while. I bought it for a construction project, and then due to health issues it's been mostly resting in the barn. It needs it's 200 hr service and I'm having a hard time finding anyone to do it. Any tricks to doing this myself? I haven't been able to find a...

    Battery For 425 (Kohler)

I have the older model 425 with the Kohler and it's time to change the battery again. The last one I got I had to force into position after removing the muffler; getting it out again was a nightmare. I don't know if battery sizes have changed over time or what. Has anyone found a battery that...

    425 Starter Problem Info.

A friend was having starter problems with his 425. After going through 3 starters, he finally discovered that his ignition switch was corroded (machine stored out in the weather) and sticking on causing his starter to keep running and burn up. The last I heard he had changed the ignition...

    L39 50 hr. Service?

My L39 is due for it's 50 hr. service. I talked to two different dealers and one said that all fluids and filters should be changed and the other said that now Kubota only required the filters to be changed. Does anyone know the official stance on this? Money is kind of tight and I don't want...

    Help! I'm Confused

My L39 tlb is coming up for it's 50 hr. service. I talked to two different dealers and one told me that all fluids needed to be drained and replaced + filters and the other said only the filters need to be changed. Which is it? Thanks!

    PT425 - Kohler - Throttle linkage problem

My 425's throttle has always been sort of messed up; The throw on the lever only goes up about half to minimum throttle and I'm not sure if I've ever had full throttle or not. The other day I lost everything above mid throttle so I decided to adjust the cable but I'm afraid I'll over rev the...

Backhoe  L39: Where to buy hyd. thumb & backhoe buckets

In my search for a compact TLB, the latest prospect is an L39. I've bounced from L48 to JD 110 back to L48 and now to the L39. :) Did anyone ever find a place to buy a thumb for the L39? Did they supply the aux. hyd. or did you use Kubota's $1500 foot pedal setup? I'd also like to know if...

What does a JD 110 TLB really weigh?

I'm traveling to look at a 110 and want to make sure I have the right vehicle trailer combo if I decide to buy it. I've read so many varying estimates of the 110 wt. with hoe that I'm confused. The most often quoted is 7600# but I've seen 5500# to 9500#. I realize thumbs, loaded tires and...

Would you buy a JD 110 TLB with 2k hours?

I've been looking for a compact TLB for a while. All the ones I can afford have 1,200 to 2,000 hrs. I know that's not many hours on a full size TLB but I'm wondering how the compacts generally hold up? I'll be using it for general farm use and on my own projects, not commercially. I may not...

    Murphy's Law of battery replacement.

Murphy\'s Law of battery replacement. I had to replace the battery in my PT 425 today. The fact that it lasted 4.5 years was the only bright side to the whole ordeal. First of all, you must remove the muffler to make room to remove the battery. That wouldn't be so bad excepting the tight...

PT uses on a building project.

I was out working on the new shop building this weekend. My wife came by to check on my progress and found me moving an old power pole to the burn pile with my 425. She remarked that the PT was one of the best purchases we'd ever made and I had to agree with her. We sat down and started trying...

Grading  425 Brush Mower blade bolt failure.

A friend of mine has a brush mower that I borrow once in awhile. I used it the other day and had the bolt that holds one of the blades break. I was lucky enough to find the spacer and washer in the grass and after extracting the broken bolt and replacing it with a new one the mower was back in...

    Brush Forks

I had these forks made last year to help clean up limbs in the woods. Since then I've found a myriad of uses for them. A friend made it out of 1/4" wall square tube and 1.25" rod. It's 60" wide and has 36" long forks. I've used it to haul lumber and plywood for the new shop, pick up limbs, and...
