I’ve heard that the Macks are pretty good but we don’t have any. Mostly Kenworths and freightliners. Mine is a t800 with a 500 Cummins and goes pretty good.
As an experienced truck driver I can tell you that automatic trucks have come a long way but they still have a long way to come. The company I work for has a pretty even mixture. I’ve had times driving automatics that I was so frustrated I wanted to drive it off a bridge.
would be good if you actually used a gear shift to compare to. I've cut down trees and been in this same position and found that it is much faster and easier to just cut the tree off and take it out in two pieces.
I have used many hst tractors and gear tractors. For what I do a hst does not perform as well as a gear shift. I’m not saying that they can’t do anything I’m just saying that for me a gear shift works better.
I think you might want to consider a dump insert. I know they can’t haul as much as a trailer but they are much cheaper and may allow you to get the proper trailer to haul the tractor.
You also might be able to find a used trailer for a much more affordable price
I know the Kioti backhoes have the option for a hydraulic thumb so I would assume that ls does too. That is something I would not go without.
K5lwg mentioned used implements and I agree. The only new implement I own is a bushhog, everything else is at least 10 years old and generally works...
