How many acres do you own?

Sorry to hear about your dad. That cemetery is beautiful. Our house will be built this summer on the place we have there. Excited and stressed at the same time. It's located between Deadwood and Spearfish.

Moving 2,000-pound feed tote on a pallet with Massey 1759

Sounds like you have the capacity to lift the pallet. If your hesitant on the deal, drive the f350 out from under the load once it's lifted then lower it for transport.

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

I cleared a 30' wide by 500' long swath up through an aspen grove for power to our property. Within a month I got a letter in the mail from a "save the aspens" group wanting to meet with me to explore ways to enhance my grove.

Super dry fill, Impending rain and extra compaction

Heavy rain is nature's best compactor for the type of dirt you described. A plate compactor would be a good choice to further compact it after it dries out a bit.
