    Underground electric/drainage question

This is hilarious. Out of all these answers only about two or three people actually understood the question. Poor OP.

Hydraulic motor sizing - weird project

Rolled the Fiat barge out of the shed today under its own hydraulic power. It seems to work okay but there are many bugs still to work out.

Need help getting new hydraulic system working

It looks like I made a stupid mistake. I flipped the valve handles 180 degrees but kept looking at the valve body as though the handles were still facing the front. I reversed the inlet and outlet hoses. Doh! I'll switch hoses tomorrow and expect it to be just fine. At least I didn't put a lot...

Need help getting new hydraulic system working

I have just finished building a hydraulic system in a vehicle that has two hydraulic motors and five double acting cylinders. Before I hook up the big motor that drives the gear pump I am trying to charge the system with hydraulic fluid using a drill motor chucked to the pump to make sure things...

Hydraulic motor sizing - weird project

These are pictures of the valve control panel and also of the pump, tank, filter etc. I have chucked a drill motor onto the drive shaft to spin the pump and circulate oil into the system. The control panel shows the three cylinder valves, the two motor valves, flow divider, and inlet and return...

Hydraulic motor sizing - weird project

Thanks. I'm not sure what's happened to my thread here. I can't see some of the more recent posts.

Hydraulic motor sizing - weird project

Here's a dumb question - do C1 and C2 go from the counterbalance valve to the motor or do V1 and V2?

Hydraulic motor sizing - weird project

I just received my Rexroth counterbalance valves from the Italian distributor. Those guys were great. Good price and got them here in about 2 weeks. Can you tell me if they can be mounted 2' away from the motors? With hose rather than steel tubing?

Hydraulic motor sizing - weird project

Thanks, that's all helpful information. I am looking at Sun's Dual Counterbalance Assembly with Crossport Relief and Shuttle, 10:1 Pilot Ratio. It seems to be rated at 15gpm which is a little less than I can get from my pump's 35gpm intermittent capacity (after being split by the 50/50 flow...

Hydraulic motor sizing - weird project

Have a look at the photo on page on page 4. Each wheel leg is independent and can pivot up out of the water.

Hydraulic Pump, no load power use

Thanks. I think I will try without the clutch but make provision for it to be installed later.

Hydraulic Pump, no load power use

I am fitting a 3 cu. in. pump to a custom vehicle. The pump is used intermittently and is powered by the vehicle's motor. Rather than disengage it using an electric clutch I am wondering if I can just leave it engaged full time. Can anyone tell me approximately how much torque it takes to spin a...

Hydraulic motor sizing - weird project

That's interesting. I'm just starting to understand how the system I've got in mind is going to work so trying to figure out something like yours is making me a little crazy. I guess I could make my back wheels steer if I really wanted to but I'm not sure how the front drive wheels would do...

Hydraulic motor sizing - weird project

I took flow control to mean variable speed control. It seems like without that motor directional valves are either on or off. Is that wrong? There are a lot more available valves if I'm not looking for the words "flow control". "A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing". Designing...
