Right to Repair - manufacturers obligation

The "right to repair" argument is much more about manufacturers trying to make their equipment in a manner that leaves you no choice but to come back to them for maintenance and service. Sort of like being forced into a shotgun wedding with a greedy SOB. If a company that hasn't gone out of...

Cold starting a to 35 w/ Standard diesel

Yes, It has been converted to 12 volt. It also has glow plugs which I had to replace and re-wire several years ago. There is a plug for an intake manifold heater but I don't have one for it. I keep the battery on a maintenance charger at all times during the winter months which helps in...

Tell us something we don’t know.

Wow, I bucked and split 12 cord of delivered logs into firewood this year with a chain saw and log splitter. It was one heck of a lot of work! I can't imagine doing doing 30-40 cord every year from standing trees with just an axe (and perhaps if I were affluent) a cross cut saw. How did...

What have you done to your Branson today?

I would think that would depend on how frequently you use the winch, and for how long. If it is just used occasionally, the one battery will work fine. If you plan on using it regularly for hauling trees up hills with chokers, maybe two batteries may not even be enough.

    Compact tractor options

It seems that some people think that a tractor company that has been in business forever, makes 100% of their own tractors and parts, doesn't form alliances or have mergers with other companies, never changes their business structure, are only made in their idea of acceptable spots on the globe...

    Cool Nature Photos

My Daughter and I rode past that place this summer on a motorcycle trip. We both noticed it. One always wonders about the history behind such places. You live in a beautiful, underappreciated part of the State, 3 Horse!

    3 point lift question

Yes It does have a draft control. Moving the draft control to any position doesn't seem to affect the operation of the three point. I do have the factory service manual. If one can understand their wording of how to adjust things, they are a better man than me :). The youtube videos were...

    More residential well questions

I honestly had never heard of them, but you are right, Steve, But as I do a quick research, many people say that the quality of a single phase vfd is considerably less than a 3 phase vfd. And I know from experience that 3 phase vfd themselves vary considerably in the quality of the sine wave...

    More residential well questions

VFD's do have their place, for instance if you have a large lawn sprinkling system with uneven numbers of sprinklers per zone. But matching the VFD to the pump's curve to maintain the required pressure and flow rates, along with providing a control system that will really take advantage of the...

    More residential well questions

This may unfortunately be true is some areas. However where I live, the ones I know are exceptionally honest, knowledgeable and not at all out to fleece you. Maybe we are an exception, but I hope not.

Sorry, I wouldn't trust anything that comes from that source to be factual. It makes National Inquirer look to be a reliable source of facts.

The one thing that you wonder why you didn't buy sooner?

I bought a Hisun E1 electric UTV for around the farm several years back. Although I wouldn't want to use it for recreation purposes (such going out in the woods.., too little range), it is ideal for around the farm with its near-zero maintenance, ease of use, and general handiness. It is sort...

    More residential well questions

Not knowing your local conditions, it is hard for us TBN "experts" to make expert recommendations. I would depend more heavily on the recommendations from local well drillers and installers. They have more experience in well issues that occur in your area. However I would add that wells is...

    SMOKE

I have been wondering how you have been, there have been fires close by on all sides of you. Glad to see you are OK! Hopefully the seemingly now annual fire season is over.

Tell us something we don’t know.

I am always amazed at the skill, ingenuity, and creativity of the turn of the 20th century machine makers.
