The guy who I had do some work on the tractor came over this morning to help me out. All it took was some starter fluid after all that. Thank you so much for your help!

I made sure the rod was pushed in and tried it again this morning, but I'm still having the same issue. The engine spins when I try to start it, but it's not turning over and running. Any other ideas?

Haha no worries! I did push it back in, but now that I’m thinking about it, I may have jostled it a bit when I was getting in and out of the tractor the other day. I did put more fuel in it hoping that would solve the issue, but it did not. I will look at that rod tomorrow morning.

Yes, it is engaging and rotating the engine, but that is it. If something was miswired, wouldn't it still start if I used the wrench like it's shown in the video? I started it the other day with that method with the starter switch completely removed and no wires connected at all.
