    4410, Tie-Rod Grease Seals

I'm going to replace the rubber, grease seals that have split after 2 1/2 years and 1,000 hours of service. They are the seals that look like donuts and enlarge as grease is pumped in to them. Has any one done this and if so, is there any thing more to it, than meets the eye? Thanks for the help.

    3-Point Hitch  3-Point Tree Sprayer

The dreaded Winter Moth has arrived in my neck of the woods and is threatening to do its defoliating dirtywork on our flowering trees during the next several months. There are a couple of insecticides now available with which to beat the critters down. I'd like to purchase a sprayer, most likely...

Finally I'm posting some photos for you guys. Thanks to all of you for the ones you've posted. Maybe this will work.

    Grill Dents

If you guys are like me and get somewhat aggressive when you're clearing and moving brush, here's a tip for taking the dents out of your radiator grill: Get yourself one of the little wooden rollers that the wallpapermen use to flatten their seams. Remove and lay your grill face-down on the barn...

I put one on my steering wheel several days ago. What a useful device. Pass the word...

    Backhoe  48 Backhoe Noise

Lately I've noticed a clanking sound coming from inside the boom of my 48 backhoe. I'm almost certain the noise was not always there. We just hit the 100 hour mark and I grease the hoe regularly. I've not been rough on the hoe, as evidenced by the fact that all of the bucket teeth are intact...

    Hot Feet

I've noticed a fair amount of discussion about heat build-up at the feet. For what it's worth, I was surprised to learn that the radiator fan on my new 4410 blows forward. I learned that when consulting my JD mechanic about the battery leakage problem that we are all so well aware of. The...

    4410 Battery leakage

Today I fell victim to the dreaded battery acid leakage plague. Has any one had any recent success in getting their dealer to provide a permanent fix for the problem, such as providing a battery without the old-style caps? I have marine, deep cycle batteries that are sealed, in my boats. I...

    New 4410 a real workhorse!

As of last night, I'd put just over 20 hours on the new toy. What a workhorse! I've spent a lot of the time clearing and grubbing about 80' of a new access road that will run about 600' from our main road to a road at the back of the property. The backhoe is great for digging stumps, pushing...

    More disappointment with 4410

The story goes on: My tractor was picked up by the dealer at 8am and as of 5pm had not made it back to the dealership.(a 45 min. drive) I told the dealer to keep it. Unless another JD dealer pops up out of nowhere I'm sorry to say I'm going to buy a New Holland. The other JD dealers all want...

John Deere owner for 1 day

Just had a bad experience with a new Deere 4410 w/loader and backhoe and it's dealer. I ended up sending it back. Can you guys recommend a NH 4wd Hydro with comparable specs? I'm in Mass.

    New 4410 A Huge Disappointment

My new 4410 died on me yesterday after less than 2 engine hours. After I waited more than 5 hours this morning for the dealer to make arrangements for a man to come out to look at it, I told the salesman not to bring it back. When the repairman finally got here, he used my tools and cordless...

    EHydro diagnostic flash codes

Can anyone tell me what 2 short & 2 long flashes indicate?

4410 ehydro stopped moving. Please HELP!

My new tractor, which I've had a blast with for about 2 operating hours, stopped moving shortly after I began using the loader for the first time. (probably a coincidence) The motor runs fine but the tractor won't go. I did actually get it to go about 20 yards but then it stopped again. Please...

    Got my new tractor tonight!

It looks a lot bigger at home than it did at the dealer's! What a machine (4410/430/48). The combination of the extra hp and torque of the 4410 work the hoe effortlessly. I'm amazed at how much like a bigger backhoe the 48 behaves, and the reach is fantastic. Thanks to all you guys that offered...
