    Snow plow /bush hog

I have a FEL a back blade and a stone driveway.I am still digging it up especially if the ground isnt frozen. Would it be possible to attach a blade to a bush hog since the back wheel would stop the blade digging into the drive. I was thinking of putting the blade between tractor and the bush...

Using the FEL as a crane.

Occasionally I need to lift some heavy stuff out of the basement via the Belco permentry door. I have installed a winch on the front of the tractor.Nothing too special as its not a permament fixture, see attached.

My parents arrived this evening. Dad will be 90 in January and mum 88 this fall, but they looked great walking down the exit at the airport. I know he has been looking forward to using the tractor and I cant wait to let him have a go.

For sometime I have been able to stream internet radio through my HIFI system, but this weekend, with the help of my geeky son we managed to get the internet on the television. It was actually not that difficult, a quick trip down to Radio Shack and the purchase of some S-video cables and a...

    Brush Hog

I was buying hay from a local farmer and I noticed that he had a bush hog that whilst the vegetation was not growing through was certainly in danger of becoming embedded in the yard. He explained that it needed a new slip clutch but as it was a Deere it was therefore still in good shape. There...

    Pleistocene re-wilding

Well, here is a thought provoking idea. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4160560.stm Some researchers have put forward the suggestion that the plains of north america can be repopulated with wild beasts, such as elephants and lions. They do admit that gaining local support will be a...

    More summer mowing notes

As I was mowing this afternoon the swallows and martins were darting in front of me as I stirred up the insects. A really pretty sight and for me finally a symbiotic relationship between man, tractor and nature.
