    BX23 water pump questions

My BX2200 can get hot if I'm doing heavy (mostly during the spring) mowing with the MMM. It's the only implement I see this happen on. A few years ago now, I mowed a little over 5 acres of 2-4' tall grasses with a 62" flail mower and it was running fine. Just a tick above the middle mark...

    My Big Lawn Mower!

My 2002 BX2200 has only yellow safety pages in the OM. Always found that part interesting. LOL

    24mmX27mm Combination Wrench

I have like 5 or 6 cheapy calipers. Both plastic and metal. But I also have two really nice Mitutoyo calipers in both analog and digital. I use them a few times a month. I also love my Milwaukee 5m/16ft tape measures. I bought a few of them. I love having both metric and imperial. Really wish...

Underside plate only on one half of deck

My 2002 BX2200 is exactly the same way. Only one plate. Over the years this has been brought up on here. I've seen it mentioned in confusion. Looking at the IPL, it is the same way, only one plate. I agree with @Chewwy in regards to the non-discharge side to facilitate the clipping flow to the...

    Rear Axle Seal Leak (BX2200)

The axle seals came out easily with a plastic pry bar and a couple taps with my fist. They are in there about as hard as a wine cork. Literally, nothing to it. Yep, exactly like you said. The two ways mention in this thread will work to get the bearing off. Heat/cold or hydraulic press methods...

Using an offset flail mower to mow grass

I run a 62" Woodmaxx Flail with Y grass knives on it, ran on my BX2200, and it does a phenomenal job mowing. I typically mow my lawn/field around 2" (no rocks). It does a much better job mulching than the belly mower. I switch it up occasionally to give the grasses a different type of mowing...

    Rear Axle Seal Leak (BX2200)

If I didn't have a 50 ton hydraulic press at my disposal, that would be my alternative. It's funny, not to change the topic, but about 6-7 years ago I finally bought this hydraulic press, and every year, it gets used around 5-10 times a year. Here I thought, who the heck needs a hydraulic press...

Hobart 210 Running Aluminum without Spool Gun

I learn new things every so often on a project. Even the best sharpen their skills by doing the trade. That is how you get better. To be honest, with all of the time I've put behind welding, I feel like I only got about a year or two of welding under my belt. Because I don't do it everyday. So...

Hobart 210 Running Aluminum without Spool Gun

That is how my Hobart 210 is. Just held in by a thumb screw. Judging by how the liner/feed hose is connected, I could see how this works. I always felt like the nozzle tip was to add to the conductivity and to help feed the wire straight and prevent slag from entering the liner/gun.

Hobart 210 Running Aluminum without Spool Gun

That is good to know. Yeah, my torch bottles look like they got kicked around. But they serve their purpose. I love welding, brazing and soldering. Been doing it since I was a kid, and the more hours I spend behind the torch or gun, the more relaxing it is. It is satisfying. :)

    Which coolant?

I buy my Cummins test kits right from the local Cummins dealer. I buy in bulk to have them on hand and they give me a slight discount at the same time. It also goes into Horizon for each unit. Helps me keep tabs on things. Only thing I don't like about Horizon is the interface is clunky and...

Hobart 210 Running Aluminum without Spool Gun

I'm not too concerned about spool sizes. 95% of the time I deal with steel. It's mostly for odds and ends. Hence why I've put off on getting a TIG machine. I've looked on Weldfabulous' website and my next bottles will be from them. My current 75-25 tank is nearing its 5 year hydro date and my...

Hobart 210 Running Aluminum without Spool Gun

Looks interesting, but yeah pricey. I don't usually do a whole lot of aluminum welding, but when I do, it would be nice to do it on site or if it is something I can't haul with me.

Hobart 210 Running Aluminum without Spool Gun

I have a single tank cart as it's nicer to swing around in tight quarters and it doesn't take up much space in the shop. What I love about the 210 is the fact I can run it on 120v for smaller odd jobs, or if I need to go to a friends house to do a small repair job. 99% of the time I just got it...

    Which coolant?

I used to use Blackstone, but I changed to Polaris (Cummins) for a while now, as they have sub-24 hour turn around times after receiving the sample. Everyone seems to have their own opinion on both labs. I just use what I feel like is best for me.
