    NH451 mower adjustments

I've had this 451 for years, bought it used. The push bar arm, the part that has the hole in the front, that the pivot drive assy goes into, has always been loose, like it's been bent towards the front direction. There's at least a half inch of clearance between the front of the pivot drive assy...

Valve stems rear tires with CC

It's not the rubber parts of the valve stem that is giving problems, it's the metal, duh.

Valve stems rear tires with CC

I wasn't expecting CC to stop any leaks. The question is 'are there any special valve stem inserts for use with the CC?' Good grief, we're talking vintage tractors here. The rims haven't changed much since I got it in about '85.

Valve stems rear tires with CC

Well, I'm sure it's the original calcium chloride in them from '65. I did change the tires in maybe '86 or '87 but the guy put the same stuff back in. I reckon I'll just change and clean the things every year, it's not expensive and if it helps stop leaks.....

Valve stems rear tires with CC

My 2020 valves started leaking after I added some air last month. So yesterday I took out the old stems which were in pretty sad shape. I had to use the 'remover' with a bit of added force from some channel locks, but was real careful and used a lot of WD40, running them in and out until I got...

    2020 diesel thermostat?

My parts book lists everything from 160/180/192/205° for the thermostat with no notes. Which one is it? Cleaning up my garage today I found a Stant 36309 195° thermo that I think I bought years ago for the 2020. Seems I read somewhere that the diesels like to run hotter than the gas. I think...

Forks for 2020 with 145 loader

I've got an old telescope seat that has an adjustable seat. That works pretty good. The quick hitch is a good idea, but the HN451 would need to be heavily modified to work with it I imagine. If I had all compatable quick hitch attachments it would happen in a heartbeat for $400.

Forks for 2020 with 145 loader

I thought about the carry all, but most of the summer I have the NH451 on and it's a real job getting that on and off. I actually have an old 3pt bracket from an old blade that wore out and could make something from that. But if I can just back the ZT into the bucket and chain the front up, that...

Forks for 2020 with 145 loader

I'm the one deviating. The CCI is very expensive. I got the WW 50 for about $7. The Fed is probably about like the CCI, they are near a buck a shot. When I want to get cheap, I use my Ruger Old Army 44 black powder revolver and load up #12 shot a couple scoops of black powder, but you have to...

Forks for 2020 with 145 loader

As little as I need a fork, I think I'll just try chaining the mower to the bucket, rear end in. Hadn't thought about that before. It's only like I need it moved maybe 6 times a year. It would be nice to have a fork to move logs, but I rarely do that too, I've got a yard guy once a week and a...

Forks for 2020 with 145 loader

Yeah, I thought it looked like an easy way to mess up the bucket. What I may do is think about just making something I can remove the bucket and attach that I can pick up the mower with. The bucket comes off easy enough with 4 pins. I could probably fabricate something from angle iron that would...

Forks for 2020 with 145 loader

I was looking at this Amazon.com: Titan Attachments Clamp On Pallet Forks with Stabilizer Bar 43" Pair Heavy Duty: Home Improvement Looks like I can also get it directly from 'titan attachments' for $204. All I want it for is mainly to pick up my Simplicity Z2050 which I can put in the bucket...

    2020 ground speed

Thanks Jim, according to that ACME map, the field is 4.6 acres. I also found that my county has a gis map with a similar thing where I can draw a perimiter and it calculates the area. It agrees with 4.6 acres. I guess I'm not mowing as much as I think.

    2020 ground speed

Got it. In my calculations, I forgot to multiply the 3.4mph by the hours. That makes sense now. I can believe that filed is about 9 acres. So the 3.4mph must be correct. I was moving along pretty consistently with few bogs and few time consuming turns. I never have been able to master those...

    2020 ground speed

Please explain the calculation for 8.65 acres. I must be missing something. That's what I figure the field is, something less than 10 acres.
