    Got a tractor yesterday.

:)Got my first tractor yesterday - 1969 Ford 2000. Paid $2500 for it, including the beat - up but functioning cutter and the weight box. Everything works so far! Brakes don't seem so good. How do I check them? What else should I do to it? I'm thinking about hiring a tractor mechanic to...

    Ford 1710

I'm looking at this Ford 1710. I'd welcome info and comments on it. What would be a fair price? The bucket has holes rusted through in places and the tires are weathered and cracked, but have tubes. Hydraulics all work, and everything sounds OK. Any and all input appreciated!

Anyone use aspirin in plant water?

I was recently told it noticeably increases plant vigor. Said summer squash so treated had greater yields and looked healthier than those not treated. Any first hand experiances with this? How much aspirin per gallon of water? Thanks!

    Ford 2000 opinions please.

I'm about to look at a late 60's Ford 2000 with loader. Gas engine. That's all I know about it at this time. I'd appreciate comments on this model tractor. Things to look for, pros and cons etc. I'll move a little dirt in my field to fill low spots, probably pull a mower around, etc' Any...

    Workbench!

I want a heavy duty workbench for my garage. I haven't found anything that looks very good at HD, Lowes etc. Any suggestions? I wouldn't mind trying to build one if I had good EASY plans - I'm the original " Cut it 3 times - and it's still too short " carpenter! Thanks Don

lOOKING AT WOOD BURNING FIREPLACE INSERTS.

I'm looking at installing a wood burning insert in my existing brick fireplace. It's essentially a wood stove that fits into the fire place opening, so it kind of looks like a metal and glass front on the fire place, but has draft control features and heat distrubution blowers like a newer wood...

Buying Advice  Request advise on 1954 Ford 640 with loader please.

I would appreciate opinions on the value of a 1954 Ford 640. It isn't very nice to look at, paint spotted with rust, but not deep pitting or holes, a few dings and dents as well. It seems to run well and sounds good to my inexperianced ears. I drove it breifly and it seemed to have plenty of...

Buying Advice  Opinions on Kubota L3940 4WD HST with loader.

I'm close to settled on ordering a the above to use around my 4 acres. I'll be cleaning up an overgrown field to plant something? I'm in New England, everyone plants Butternut, but perhaps I'll just plant forage. I'll have snow to move and so on. OK, so I'm getting an expensive toy! I would...

    Input on 4035 pricing please.

I'd appreciate comments on pricing I've receive from the two closest dealers, 15 and 60 miles away. Both quotes were for a cash price on a Mahindra 4035 4WD HST with a ML120 loader. Tax not included. One was $ 26,800 and the other $25,900. Both seem high. Opinions? Thanks!
