I second Winter's suggestion about the mesh screen. They can become clogged if ignored for too long and will cause sluggish performance. Doug

I don't have a before picture, but the grass was at least chest high. I will get an "after" picture uploaded tomorrow, if not tonight. I checked the dimension of hammer tip to the shop floor, and it was lower than I thought it would be. It is 4" off the slab. The grass does not appear to be 4"...

I just walked out in the field I cut last week. It was every bit of 8" tall. I have the rear roller set to mow the highest, and I have the top link pretty long, which rolls the mower back onto the roller more, thereby raising it higher. I did not measure the hammer clearance to the concrete slab...

I did not get to mow any this spring, but did get some mowing done this week. Everything seems to be working fine. I added two rear remote circuits to my L48. A swing cylinder was included in the old flail mower, so I reinstalled it and was able to use it while mowing. I am using the backhoe...

My old Seppi has hammers and an adjustable rear hatch. I have the rear hatch wide open. I have the roller on the lowest setting, whereby the rotor is at its highest position. I also have the top link set pretty long, also raising the rotor. It seems to distribute the cuttings pretty evenly set...

I usually burn a couple times a year. If I have taken down trees or am cleaning up windfalls, I may have more than I want in a pile. If that is the case, I build a storage pile that I feed from. The grapple makes it pretty easy to do this. I have not tried chewing up larger stuff with my flail...
