Have I been using my weed trimmer wrong?

WOT when cutting, idle when not cutting. I was burning out chainsaws cutting trees and firewood until I switched up to a commercial grade logging chainsaw. Haven't burned out one since. Size matters when it comes to heat dispersion

    Affordable GARDEN tractor

Too bad General Electric doesn't still make the E20 Elec Trak lawn and garden tractor.

One Tractor To Do It All?

My Bobcat CT230 (Kioti DK25) would mow 6 acres with a hog just fine, and it does a decent job of plowing my 1400 foot dirt driveway with the FEL and a backblade. (Also did a nice job moving 13 truck loads of crushed stone base when I upgraded the drive.) The problem is, you want filled tires...

    Call before you dig

"I didn't take it down. It was that group of feral hogs that run through there." That excuse also works for anything that's not buried at least a foot down.

Have you ever heard of a defective ROPS responsible for injury?

Don't mean to be a buzzkill, but the seat belt isn't overkill, it's a necessary component to the system. It sounds like you've had the fortunate of never experiencing a tractor roll over. No seatbelt means you will be tossed out of your seat, and the odds are, have the tractor roll over on top...

Have you ever heard of a defective ROPS responsible for injury?

I use the ROPS and seatbelt always. The only time it gets folded down is if I have to bring it inside the garage for some reason. I've read dozens of instances where the ROPS and seatbelt did their job. I have never seen an instance where the proper use of the ROPS and seatbelt led to death...

Are diesel conditioners needed for new

Here in southern NH, I just run plain old diesel in my Bobcat CT230. The most time the fuel will sit in the tractor is maybe a month if I'm not using it much. Longest I've had any fuel sit in the plastic jerry cans in the garage is 4 months (2, 5 gallon cans) Never had a problem.

    Brush hog accident(s)

A couple of bad eggs trying to steal game.

    Brush hog accident(s)

I'd say a small herd of goats actually. But that does require fencing. And you can't drive them around unless you have a pair of giant ones like Thor. ;-)

    Brush hog accident(s)

Aaand that's why you want to carry a weapon with you. /sigh Had someone do a drive by shooting of my property back in November, probably over my comments on the town blog about littering, drinking and driving, and the need for increased policing in the area. Cops can't identify the shooter...

    Brush hog accident(s)

True. Change has to come from within, it can't be imposed from without. And sometimes even hitting rock bottom isn't enough of a wake up call for some people.

    Tractor idling

If it's for less than a couple of minutes, I'll let it idle. More than that, I'll shut it down unless it's sub zero weather. The cost of diesel fuel is the main driver, and I dislike stuffing $50 bills in my tank.

Publishing Loader Capacity Numbers That Far Exceed The Capacity Of The Axles

Well, I've suspended enough weight off the front loader to pick the entire rear end off the ground, and basically 2-wheeled the load on the front axle to where I wanted it. I don't recommend it though.

Gov't mandates gas can flame arrestors.

First of all, it's not necessary. In 64 years I've never had a problem with these; because I'm not stupid enough to pour gasoline or other burnable fluids on a fire or hot coals. Second, as to those "thousands" who injure themselves, tough beans, it's not the responsibility of the government to...
