I'm going to assume it was in gear. He wasn't going far with it so he didn't strap it. But yeah I don't see how it moved in gear unless there's more to the story, Can't believe anything the guy says anymore. Needless to say he wont be borrowing the tractor again!

From what I can tell the case drains do just drain back into the transaxle housing and I don’t think their lines it’s just small clearances that allow it to bypass by design. Yeah I’m using a 300psi gauge to measure charge pressure. I’ve tried 2 different gauges and both measured correctly...

Oh yeah lol I’ve had both of those issues happen to me in the past but fixed them. The lever does shift into all gears and tractor won’t move in gear.

It will roll in neural and once you put it in gear it’s hard to roll. But yeah when I push the pedal down the charge pressure goes from 30 to about 15 and the tractor doesn’t even twitch, the engine changes very slightly that’s about it.

I may end up taking the front hydraulic pump apart and using a caliper and my eyeball for signs of wear. Maybe it's not getting enough flow, therefore no pressure? But power steering works great though so it seems unlikely.

Correct, the HST system is pretty mechanical with besides cruise control theres no electrical components to test. The only noise I hear when I press on the pedal is the engine changes tune just a slight bit, not much. By internal line, you're saying on the inside of the HST itself, correct? I...

Yeah I can't find a flywheel sensor or anything not even with a parts diagram and google. The tractor doesnt really have a lot of electrical stuff past the engine. It's really all mechanical back there.

Hey willy, Yes the fluid is up to par in the sight gage. Always has been never ran low and ive always used fluid from tractor supply that meets the j20 spec.
