    Rock ID, Dexpan?

finally got the boat in monday, and the corner wedge and stairs, coming nice, wife is happy with the larger swimming area by the stairs for the smaller grandkids. can't say that the rock and jog in the dock is an issue at all.

    Rock ID, Dexpan?

we did offset the 2nd section of dock to go around the big rock, it's going to be fine. still have to finish with the steps and corner dock piece, but with this 2nd piece of dock we gained a much wider swim area, and will have easier access onto the front of the boat from the dock.

    How to straighten my boathouse?

you can see how much you have moved the structure, as others mentioned, 100+ years is a long time. the structure has conformed to it's foundation over the years. i think you will be fine getting the walls as plumb to the overhead structure as you can for now and trying pressure over time to...

    water pipe leak/peroxide?

we have peroxide injection for our home water system, i dilute the 7% with water, so it's really only 3.5%. today we had a leak at a copper fitting for the injection system where it meets the 3/4 in copper main water pipe. i removed the T for fear it may be bad, and was surprised to see the...

    Rock ID, Dexpan?

might be easier to just jog the deck out for that 2nd section, offset it, would only need to be offset about 1 foot.. and wouldn't be horrible as the lateral run for the boat could could be right where the offset is

    removal of tree blow down

i went over again last night and did some rough measuring the tree is 13-14 inches at the base, most of it is around 12, i believe white pine, so around 2000 lbs total give or take.. the top is hanging free with only a few scrub trees below it, and no good trees near it to hang from or tie...

    aluminum weld

I recently acquired a 16' section of aluminum dock that had a little wind damage. i was able to bend back the area that was damaged, but notice there are 4 support rods that the weld has broken. i'd like to reweld these before we put the dock in for summer. is it worth trying to use the...
