    Ford 4610 Extra Step

Due to injury to both shoulders, climbing up on my tractor has become an issue. I’m trying to minimize any additional injury. I’ve been using a wooden bench as a step up. Then kick it out of the way. Getting down from the tractor is not much of an issue. Anyway I decided to fabricate an extra...

    Utility Water Hose Reel

This is my old timer utility water hose reel. I needed to light off my burn pile. Thought I’d post a picture. Way back when, I purchased a hose reel cart. It didn’t last long. So I salvaged the hose reel, made my crude cart, and made a PCV water tube and hose swivel. Well this thing has really...

I’m in the Scranton area. We bought a house on 4.5 acres in the city. Very quiet. Similar to being in the country. House is mostly hidden from view. People don’t realize there is a house there. Move was to be close to family. I grew up in Brooklyn and we have family in the city. Close but not...

***UPDATE*** Mice ate my light wiring, ques on the wire connectors

Good point. I use those in situations where I might connect and disconnect periodically.

***UPDATE*** Mice ate my light wiring, ques on the wire connectors

Glad you are moving along with this project. That housing holds male terminals on one side and female terminals on the other. You can easily eliminate it and just use male and female terminals. In that case you buy insulated terminals. Use tape to hold the three together. I would buy some male...

***UPDATE*** Mice ate my light wiring, ques on the wire connectors

You can find the terminals at any of the auto parts stores. I use NAPA and AutoZone. The locking tab terminals may be harder to find. I’m sure they are .250 terminals. If your wiring can reach just crimp on new terminals and slide them into the housing. I'm not familiar with Kubota. It appears...

Also look at the chew marks on the wires. Sometimes the chew pattern will identify where it connects. Tractor Forensics.

***UPDATE*** Mice ate my light wiring, ques on the wire connectors

Do you have the wiring diagram for your unit. I found a Kubota diagram showing the 3 wire connector. However wires are Orange, brown, and black. Looking at your first picture, wires on fender, it looks to me as orange, brown or different shade of orange and black. So the orange wire hanging...

Picture of male and female terminals. Typical width we use is .250” and are sized by the AWG wire used. Look at the insulation on the wire. The wire gauge used may be printed on the insulation. Your terminals are uninsulated as they are in the housing.

***UPDATE*** Mice ate my light wiring, ques on the wire connectors

Welcome to the Mouse Club. I got hit a month ago. It took a while to rewire the mess. They shorted the wiring and battery died. I couldn’t figure out why the battery died. After I charged it, I found all the indicator lights on with the key in my pocket. I then knew it was mice. They have hit me...

Tractors and wood! Show your pics

Hello, I just found this thread and I’m slowly reading the pages. I’m interested in the cold weather operations as I’m moving from Texas, hot hot, to Pennsylvania, cold cold and snow. Lots to learn ahead. Anyway, one man operation and just cut for myself and help others on occasion. Made some...

First time jacking tractor rear end.

it all relates to length of the extension. I wanted a lower setting on my wrench. Using 12 inches instead of 14 as in your case and my wrench I get a setting of 180 ft lbs.

That is interesting. I used 2 formulas and both gave me the same result. Both have online calculators.

First time jacking tractor rear end.

My tire trouble didn’t end with the tractor tire. This morning I went to take the tractor tire to town and my RR tire on my trailer was flat. The tire was good but the valve stem failed. Another tire for the work order. The tire service man and my friend from yesterday are both super strong...

First time jacking tractor rear end.

Well success!! This morning as I walked to the tractor and looked at it, I had one of those “ why didn’t I think of that before moments” What I saw is that my tractor has a FEL support that sticks out and is even with the inside sidewall of the front tire. A jack stand under that support would...
