+1; mine came from tractor supply and lasted about 3 months.

    Cheap Ballast & QH

No complaints about my cheap ballast box. Mine came from India; I filled it with pavers and pea gravel.

    Complexity and Reliability

No experience with any of that really, but to be honest, it sounds like you know the answer already..

Snow chains for plowing with a rear blade

FWIW I got a full set of OFA EKO chains from Windy Ridge and found them (Windy Ridge) very easy to work with. These Scandinavian chains were not noticably more expensive than the China-made ones. No review yet; haven't really needed them so far.

    Compact Tractors W/ Grapple

You're in for a treat; they're incomprehensibly useful. I started with a Little Buck on my JD445 and now have a 40hp Kubota with 1500# of lift (+ ballast box). Grapple is installed 95% of the time, bucket 3.5%, balance forks.

    Question regarding diesel fuel additives

Put this old story in the For What It's Worth category... First diesel I ever had any responsibility for was my then GF's early aughties Golf TDI. When it ran right, it was a real hoot; crazy torque. In any case, I recall reading in one of the related fora (VW Vortex, maybe?) that those cars...

    Your last generator Maintenance Run

First month of the quarter- shut off the house power and ran the Generac for an hour; checked the oil after a bit.

Newbie - need input & help please

If you take the invites to go and visit the Brighton and Stockbridge peeps come to Howell as well and you can take my Kubota L3940 w grapple for a spin. 39hp, 4wd, ~4500#. Agree about the mud; I have lots sometimes and have learned to be careful...

I want a Hydraulic grapple for my L3130 with la513

FWIW I decided to go with 'known-good' and self-installed a WR Long kit. About a grand, about 4 hours of careful install time. Pretty easy, and no messing about sourcing parts or making bracketry.

Owning a new(er) tractor that's too heavy to haul with your pickup?

FWIW I elected to 'not worry about it'; tractor weighs ~5000lb, my SUV can pull 3500, and my trailer was originally for a sunfish :).

I have some long term soft spots, so I'm trying corduroy road. Found a giant puffball.

Engine sounds like there’s pebbles in it

FWIW I love a mechanic's stethoscope for this type issue; makes it much easier to localize the source of the noise.

    Spark plug worked for me!

    Stihl 261CM suddenly stall-prone

Y'all are awesome. I have to admit I headed to AutoZone this am with the idea that while it would be *nice* if the plug fixed it, but... The improvement in the saw was so obvious and immediate that I swapped plug in my 2-stroke Kombi as well. What do you know- the start/idle/restart behavior...
