    Front wheel bearings failed L5740

The bearings that are failing are tapered roller bearings.

    Front wheel bearings failed L5740

I have replaced 2 bearings on my L4400 in 600 hrs. Same side.. Looks almost identical to your bearings. I did alot of heavy loader work in the past, and assume that caused it. In my service manual the retainer ring is 2 pieces I think.

Anybody try the newer R14 tires?

It's past time to replace the R4's on my L4400. I'm trying to decide what to buy, knowing technology has changed over the years. I spend much of my seat time driving on county roads to and from jobs, so wear is important to me. The size is 10-16.5, and the prices of r4's vs R14's seems to be a...

    Idiot award for the week

I had a culvert put in across my yard and was grading it out. I have mowed around the gas main for 20+ years and promptly backed into it with the grader box. amazing how fast you can run when you think you may die!!

    Front Axle Fluid

I agree Harry. like conventional oils, there's a vast difference in synthetics. After some research, I used Lucas Oil. It was about $100 for 2 gallons, but in the end, I think it's cheap insurance.

    L4400 front axle leaking. GRRRRR!

Well, I'd say it was the bearing!! It took the seal with it, and scratched the heck out of the axle too! I only worked about 2 hours after I noticed the leak. But I must say, it was pretty easy to replace.

    L4400 front axle leaking. GRRRRR!

After a very frustrating attempt to back a 4 wheel wagon load of firewood, I noticed the front axle leaking inside of the wheel. I had it in 4WD for a short while because the back end was sliding on wet grass, and may have cranked the wheel all the way to one side and goosed it a little too...

3-Point Hitch  Top link holder on L4400

Somehow, during a fence row clean out, I lost the wire hook that holds the 3 point top link up when no implement is on the tractor. I have looked at the Kubota parts website, and find no part number for one. I even have the service manual, and it makes no mention of a hook. Any suggestions...

Is it possible to increase hydraulic flow?

I have an L4400. I have a Shaver 3pt Post Driver. I used it on my OLD Deutz D3006, and it worked much faster and better, because of a higher hydraulic flow. I don't need more pressure, just flow in GPH. I understand that more heat will be produced, and am willing to add a cooler.. Can I get...
