I got to test drive the Kubota B2601 and the Yanmar SA325. I really like the way the 325 drove, and the bucket was very smooth. The Kubota was nice to drive, I actually really like the treadle pedal, but the bucket was clumsy compared to the 325 and the transmission was much noisier. The 3601...

That’s the nice thing about this property, there’s no lawn. Just wild grass. And I have zero interest in adding a lawn. If anything, I’d plant a microclover lawn.

No backhoe for me. I just don’t see me using it very often, if ever after I take care of the dirt work near the foundation. Thanks! Good advice, thanks. The reason I was looking at a brush mower is because I travel for work, and I know there will be times that I let the grass grow, so it’d be...

The NH and Yanmar dealer is a lot closer to me. I think I’ll check out the NH version while I’m there and, if I like it enough, make the trek to the LS dealer. Financing is also a selling point. Between closing and a wedding, I’d rather not part with another large sum.

Good point. Unfortunately, it looks like the closes LS dealer is 90 miles away.

On paper, I’m really intrigued by the Yanmar SA424 & SA324, New Holland Workmaster 25S, and the Kubota B2601HSD. There are two good Kubota dealers near me, but the NH/Yanmar dealer is a bit of a hike. I like the Deere, but the 2-series is considerably more expensive for the capabilities...

Tough to estimate right now, but there is a noticeable hump around the house that funnels water back toward the foundation. I have to knock that down, add window sills for the basement, and build up material near the foundation so I can get the right slope out to 10’. I’ll probably be moving a...

I’ll take a look at those as well. I’d be lying if country of origin wasn’t a concern of mine though. Thanks for the recommendation! Thanks for the models, I’ll have to see if there’s a dealer near me. I think his is a 30 horse model. I didn’t look that high up the range because we never...

Thanks for the replies. And sorry for the confusion, but I’ll be getting the loader for either. It looks like the B2301 FEL has about 200 pounds of lifting capacity over the BX2380 (948 vs. 739). The attachments I’d be looking to buy at the jump are the loader, belly mower, box blade, and maybe...

    Recommended Tractor for 4.5 acres

Hello! I’m under contract on a house with about 4.5 acres (1.1 ac wooded) and would like some opinions. Most of the property is grassland, so mowing would be the most frequent usage. It has a 300’ dirt driveway and the property needs some grading and dirt work near the foundation, so I’d like...
