Lots of yards have that little stone that sticks up 1/2 inch above mowing height. The one that looks like a shovel would pop it out..... Regards Mutt

There are a lot of options for watts, bulbs, hi-bay/lo-bay etc. Does anyone have a suggestion for 40X64X14 barn lighting? It may not be heated all the...

    Tree root killer needed

We have a large area that is saturated w/ locust trees. The stumps and surrounding areas send up new trees very quickly. Anyone know of a good way to kill the roots?(besides digging them up!!!)I was once told to use Miratic(sp?) Acid when they start to grow but that is some rough stuff! Thanks Mutt

    Tractor track mod.

There was a thread a while back on these. Driving down the road in a hurry but had to stop and get a couple pics. It's on a JD 4020 and I got a couple more if someone wants to build one. regards Mutt

? for the people w/ woodmills

Out getting an early start on next years firewood. Noticed this piece of hickory is very straight and no branches coming out the sides. It's 19' long and 20" down to 15" dia. Questions 1. Is hickory worthwhile to get sawed into boards? I don't really have a use for it other than it would be a...

    Disk setup/operation

Just removed another section of apple trees(98 of 'em). All that's left is original orchard grass and a little rough. Borrowed a set of disks and breaking it up for leveling to be mowed. I am not getting more than a couple inches penetration and it's very clumpy. Is this what I can expect from...

    L48 for the weekend

Had to take a loader cyl. to the dealer for warranty work. The boss didn't want me going thru "tractor withdrawl" so she rented a brand new L48 for the weekend knowing how much I would like a backhoe for a few projects.

    Website Music

Is there anyone who enjoys entering a website looking for something(not mentioning any names) and having music come blasting out of the speakers? I've cut down on one popular site just because of the nuisance of digging out the speaker and killing the volume control. regards Mutt

    Apple trees gotta go pt.4

I was laughing so hard at the new tree pulling technique I started eye-balling about 880 other potential victims. The wife said I'd had enough fun, don't do any more. I did notice not having the rear counter-weighted especially when she started lifting the rear wheels off the ground, just backed...

    Apple trees gotta go pt.2

The technique I used was driving the FEL level into the tree and move forward slowly until the tree started to bend. Then curl the bucket fully back and LIFT!. They popped out like a big zit.

    Bulk fuel at home

We are considering having the company that delivers our LP gas setup a tank for off-road diesel use, probably a 300 gallon one. I can think of a lot of advantages but there has got to be a downside. We'll have a pickup load of 5 gallon containers available soon. Thanks Mutt
