You might also check to see about your front axle gear oil. That is supposed to be changed at 50 hrs as well. My bill for that 2 plus gallons was $125.

So I finally got around to doing the 50 hr service. I just wanted to say thanks for the detailed instructions on the strainer removal. That was a HUGE help. Everything went pretty smooth and would have been even easier if I was 20 years younger. Of course a lot of things would be easier...
I just recently picked up everything I will need for the 50 hr service. Including 12 gallons of hydraulic fluid. My bill was $650. I would say with labor your $1000
Is about right.
I’m not a tech but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express 😬
Does anyone have any tips/tricks for changing the fuel filter on a 5145? It looks pretty straight forward in the manual but I can see that my new filter doesn’t have a spot to hookup the water fuel sensor (at least I think it is the water fuel sensor)
Andy. Thanks for the quick response. You told me what I wanted to hear. I did all the service on my previous 3016 but it didn’t have a suction strainer and after watching that video I was starting to have my doubts. I’m 100% with you on draining the fluid and Im currently looking for a BIG drain...

I’m overdue on a 50hr service for my 5145. I was planning on doing this myself but I’m a little concerned about the hydraulic suction strainer. I’ve seen a video of a guy removing one on a 2638 and it looked like a pain in the a@@. I realize that is a different tractor but was wondering how...
What brand of canopy do you have? All the ones I’ve looked at sit on top of the rops and I don’t have enough clearance on my barn doors for them. Looks like your setup would work.
So I’ve done 4 hours of rotary cutting this week (mostly tall grass and weeds nothing real heavy) Did the first 2 with regular 540 pto setting. The second 2 with 540e. Definitely noticed a difference in fuel consumption. My previous Mahindra didn’t have the economy pto. This feature is...
I realize this is a late reply for the winter months. I stumbled across a product called- Fresh Cab rodent repellent. I was having a real problem with the mice in my tractor and mower both. These are pouches that you can just set in or on your tractor. I’ve had great luck with them. Got them at...
Been there done that. Thankfully I didn’t get very far before I realized the brake was on. Mine started acting up after about 2 weeks of having it. I can’t imagine it would be that difficult of a fix but I really haven’t had the time to look at it. If I stumble across a solution I will pass it on.
Thanks Andy. That is a big help. I really didn’t want to take that cover off just to look- I wouldn’t have guessed there were 3 of them under there. That brings the total up to 25- not including the FEL. The more time I spend on this machine, the more I like it. I just finished adding some bolt...
