    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

@oldnslo thanks for outlining options. 1750rpms already sounds pretty wound out, I think 2600 would make my skin crawl...but I'll give it a shot. Will talk to dealer about other pump and valve options, but I doubt much success will be had. I really appreciate everyone's assistance and...

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

@oldnslo My 3 point will not raise when the bucket is raising or curling up. Given the above conversation (and thanks everyone for the education!), what are feasible options to increase the performance of the FEL? Do they make a higher output hydraulic pump? Put smaller cylinders in current...

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

@oldnslo that's some fancy maths! Based on your calcs, I think (unfortunately?) my loader is functioning properly. Lift cylinder: 18.5" travel Dump cylinder: 19.5" travel @1750RPM Raise: 9.2 seconds Lower: 4.3 Curl up: 8.0 Curl down: 5.3 I don't usually run it at 1750RPM, so perhaps I need...

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

@oldnslo this tractor does not have power beyond. Post #27 shows hose 3 goes from the control valve to the rockshaft. I can still place the flow meter in line here and test if helpful.

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

Not sure what block you're referring to. Maybe that was a different thread? A top potential issue of mine was air getting in the lines. I replaced all O-rings on suction side and that didn't resolve the issue. I also confirmed pressures were within spec, and most recently confirmed flow to...

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

Update...I got a flow meter and am getting 7-8gpm at 2000rpm and fluid at about 60 degrees. I believe pump is rated up to 11gpm but not sure what RPM that would be at. I will let the tractor warm up and re-test in a few days. Didn't have much time tonight. This was tested by placing the flow...

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

Was able to come across the manual for my valve (part 521641). See pages 41 and 42 where it appears to show 3 different configuration options.

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

@oldnslo I purchased the flowmeter and fittings, waiting for them to arrive. That could tell us something. I also messaged Alo and asked if they had any literature specific to this loader and control valve. Will report back on any developments! @rScotty we also have an M5640SUD, bought new...

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

I don't know what that Hydraulic Control Valve on p20 is, or if my unit actually has it. I don't think it does. Unfortunately, the screen grab is as high of quality as I could find from a circa 1998 manual. Frankly I'm to the point where I think I'll just take it to the Kubota dealer and have...

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

@rScotty I checked the cables (exposed them and manually pulled them to their limit) and they appear to be functioning properly. I found the attached. I have the Commercial Hydraulic valve referenced on p20. Not sure if this is helpful. I was also able to find the attached screengrab from a...

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

@rScotty I think it's the exact same setup. In fact, the hydraulic cylinder is the exact same part number for the M5400 and the M4900/M5700.

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

The photos are great! Now we can make some educated guesses, but because yours has power steering we probably still need the hydraulic schematic in the workshop manual for the Kubota M5400, do you have that manual? I will look for one 1st Photo: Line 1 is the "P" or pressure line coming either...

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

Do those pictures help? Perhaps worth noting...there's a "sound" coming from the fill reservoir with the cap removed. Barely noticeable to the naked ear, but very clear when I insert a tube inside the reservoir and put it to my ear. The sound of liquid. Can't tell if it's a hissing, or a...

    Quickie loader, very slow. WHY?

I don't have remotes, i.e., no remote lever below 3pt lever and draft control lever. Maybe that simplifies it?? Will be sure to get proper PSI hydraulic fittings. I will re-check tomorrow, but I believe the supply and return line are plumbed directly from the pump to the FEL control valve.
