Do BXes ever NOT break? Steering hoses AGAIN

The same year I bought my used BX2200, I had the classic 600 hour rear steering hose leak (at 630 hours). I changed the two rear hoses. It's been about another 30 hours and two years, and I just blew steering hoses again. I'm pretty sure that it's the fronts this time, at least based on the...

Part number for BX2200 60" deck anti-scap wheel pins?

I'm having a hard time finding the part numbers for the pins that are used to attach and adjust the height of the 4 anti-scalp wheels that are on the outside edges of my BX's 60" deck. Anybody have that info? Thx.

    BX leak above PTO?

The back housing of my BX2200's is wet with hydraulic oil - not enough to make a puddle under the machine, but visibly wet. It appears to be coming from somewhere up high - certainly above the PTO output. I can't see any place blatantly leaking. 3 pt hitch arms seem the highest place that...

    BX2200 wrench turning

I changed the infamous 600hr blown steering lines under the floor on my BX2200. What a PITA - running them under the frame with the fuel lines instead of on top of it would've made it a 20 minute job instead of the 4-hour job that it was. It wasn't really a hard job, you just have to pull the...

    A couple BX parts questions

I'm changing out my blown BX2200 steering pump lines, and have a couple of related parts questions for those who have ventured under their floorpan: 1) Do all of the BXs use the same steering lines, and if I order lines for a BX2200, will I get upgraded lines? I don't want to end up with the...

BX hitch lowering speed and cutting height adjusting knob removal

I asked this question in my 'blew steering line' thread, but didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle, since the two knobs are solely what kept me from finishing the full disassembly part of the line replacement job. So, how do the knobs come off? Threaded somehow, or do I just pull really hard?

BX blew hydraulic steering line - suggestions for those experienced with the failure.

My BX blew one or more steering line(s) this weekend. I've been keeping an eye out for drips on the mower deck, since leaking steering lines is a well known design flaw, but never saw anything. Suddenly - POOSH - I'm loosing 2-3GPM and leaving a stripe of hydraulic fluid behind me 4" wide...

    BX2200 hydro pedal pivot access?

My hydro pedal is sticky, and the pivot won't take grease. I have to take it apart and clean up the pivot pin so I can get it to take grease again, but I can't figure out how to get to the pivot without tearing the tractor in half. Any clue?

    BX2200 intermittant ignition failure

I remember reading about several BX2200s having some kind of problem that results in the keyswitch doing nothing when you hit start - just click, click, click. Then it starts. Mine is doing that now. I think it was a grounding line that needed to be re-connected or something like that - don't...

    Aftermarket seat for L4200?

The seat on my L4200 is completely shot. The mounting hardware is on it's way out too, so I was thinking of something with integral suspension like this: Tractor Suspension Seat Black Blue Yellow Waffle Farm Tractor Universal Fit AO | eBay Anyone with 'L' frame experience put on an...

Typical BX2200 fuel leak - fix or leave it.

My BX2200 has the classic full-tank leak issue - defective sending unit seal or something like that. I try to fill it to <3/4 tank, but often overshoot and end up with a little puddle dribbling down my rear tire...you all know what I'm talking about. I don't know about you guys, but my BX gets...

    BX2200 Mower Deck Leveling/adjusting?

My BX2200 has a 60" MMM deck - is was quite out of level side-to-side (~3/4") when I got it. The manual has no description of how to level the deck side-to-side, only front to back, which I don't understand either. I think they missed some things when stuffing 3 different deck designs into the...

    BX Steering 'clunk/thud'

I have a BX2200 - I've noticed a clunk/thud when turning the steering wheel. It's not actually a sound, but I feel a thud coming through the floorboards - almost feels like what you'd expect running over a small rock - but I'm not necessary moving when I feel it. It does appear that there is a...
