I have found it is 5/8-18 threads on the fitting

I do not have a 90 degree square on hand

Thanks! After looking at the chart I got my tap and die set out and the fitting has a 5/8-18 thread pitch on it so I am assuming that I have a JIC 45 degree flare fitting

I measured the fitting, bear in mind that I have a cheap dial caliper but what I came up with was .606 inches or a little over 15 mm. I measured a male imperial JIC i have and it came out to .552 inches

I can measure the overall diameter of the threads but I do not have a way to measure the pitch that I know of. I had a #6 JIC fitting laying around at it will not go up onto the taper at all and a #8 swallows it.
