I have a 1992 MF 1020 that uses 10/30 oil. Where I live I can only find synthetic oil. My question, is it ok to use synthetic in this tractor, thanks?

Thanks Roadworthy, it is charging so I don't need to mess with the brushes. If it was the brushes that would be it for the original alternator. Trying to keep everything original if I can, so far I have been able to do that.

I only lose them where the lift arms attach to the tractor and only when I use my neighbors heavy duty 5ft brush hog, so I went with bolt and lock nut that someone else mentioned in another post. I tried the black pins from tsc but they came off too.

Thanks Fuddy, I've ordered a regulator and if that does not work I'm going with your advice. What gauge wire did you use to connect to the battery, 10 gauge? I've looked over all the wires and don't see a break any where.
