    Electric Post Hole Digger

I built a 24v electric post hole digger to go with my electric yard tractor - lets me easily drill holes for tree and pumpkin planting, without going through the hassel of mounting my 3 point PHD on the (real) tractor. It was pretty simple to build, since I just tap the power off of the yard...

Electric yard tractor built from plans

I finally completed my electric yard tractor project, built from plans as discussed in this prior thread: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/build-yourself/113439-electric-tractor.html I think its gonna work out great as a all purpose vehicle on my small farm, great for hauling dirt, making...

Stump hoe for x-mas tree stumps

Here's a picture of the stump hoe I built to get x-mas tree stumps up quickly. As discussed in a prior thread, a track hoe with a thumb is ideal, but expensive to rent every year. I tried a single tooth ripper, which did a good job cutting the roots but had trouble grabbing the stump itself...

    $50 no weld toothbar

I wanted a toothbar but couldn't really justify spending the dollars for a real one - so I picked up some "rock guards" at the local farm store for $6 a peice - they are pretty good for the job, although I had to do some minor modification - I used 1/4" two inch wide bar stock for the bar...

Broken hub & Farm Pro customer service

During a routine bolt tightness check on my Farm Pro 2420, I found some loose bolts on the inside hub - it turned out they came loose when the "hub cover" completely broke in half (see attached picture). I have no idea how long it had been that way, but I hadn't noticed any performance problems...

    Landscape rake, bad and good

I decided to build a cheap landscape rake, based on the many prior TBN threads on the subject - I bought the tines from Agri-supply, and used the frame from my $100 Homier back blade. I mounted the tines on 4x4 lumber using 2" lag bolts - this set up worked great for about 10 minutes, until the...
