3-Point Hitch  Preserving three point lift capacity with quick hitch.

Bought a quick hitch three years ago, haven’t taken it off , love it. The hitch offsets implement pins by 4”. As most of us know this creates pto shaft length problems. My problem is different. I move firewood pallets with my tractor and a three point fork set. After installing QH I notice a...

    Stihl MS290 not getting fuel?

Ok, I’m at wits end here. My Stihl MS290 quit at full throttle the other day and wouldn’t start. Here’s what I’ve done: 1. I have spark and installed new plug 2. New fuel line and filter 3. New impulse line 4. Tank vent not plugged or off 5. New carb kit and full clean including diaphragm 6...

    L3400 front axle noise

My 2007 Kubota L3400HST (1125 hours) just developed a squeak at the left front wheel. It squeaks in sync with tire rotations (once per rotation). I see no fluid so I assume this isn’t seal related but wondering if it’s a bearing going bad. I use the loader regularly but never abused or...

    Forks  Best lightweight pallet forks

I have been considering selling my current pallet forks and buying a new, lighter set for the purpose of increasing load lift. The current set weights close to 380# and I have seen some online close to 230#. Given my L3400 can only lift about 950#, the extra 150# would be a nice increase in load...

    Rear Blade  L3400 rear remotes

Anyone put rear remotes on a L3400? I had grand thoughts of a newer larger tractor this year, but my budget review committee (wife) had other ideas. So, I’ve spent a few bucks this year adding some implements to the arsenal and a few mods to the L3400 to get me through another decade. Would...

    Front-End Loader  LA465 pin spacing

Can someone with a L3400/L2800 with the LA465 loader measure the distance between the pins that attach the bucket to the loader arms? Years ago I bought an aftermarket quick attach for my loader (well worth it) but I’ve been dealing with less rollback angle ever since due to the aftermarket...

Rotary Cutter  Ford 940 brush hog oil change help

I need to change the gearbox oil on an old 5’ ford 940 rotary cutter. It only has one drain/fill plug that comes out from a side and has a 90 degree turn to vertical with a 1/2” pipe plug in it. Assume I’m supposed to fill the new oil to the lower part of that side hole. Can anyone confirm this?

Quick Hitches  Need a quality quick hitch

Been looking at upgrading tractors for a while and looks like that isn’t in the budget for several years. Now looking to add a few implements to the collection. Will be looking at new box blade and a three point tiller. I plan to buy both as quick hitch compatible but I don’t have a quick...

    Wood furnace advice

I heat with natural gas and the cost is not too bad. My furnace is approaching 15 years old and will likely need replacing soon. I'd like to keep natural gas as my main source but I am looking at the option of having a separate furnace also attached to the ductwork that would burn wood. Has...

    Power outage today

Had an outage for a few hours today. Got to use the tractor generator for the first time at the new house. Others around me may not get utility lower back until Wednesday night.

What type of hose for Diesel Fuel?

Hi guys. I have a barrel pump that I use to store fuel and have been pumping into a 5 gallon can when I need to fill the tractor. I'd like to set up about a 15 foot hose with a ball valve on the end so I can fill the tractor directly from the barrel. What type of hose do I need? Thanks!

    L3400 heavy duty rear blade

Hi Guys. I have had an el cheapo rear blade from TSC for a few years now and have bent it up a bit using it to do dirt work on my long drive. I would like to get a heavy duty angle/tilt/offset blade that is 72" wide. I looked at the Land Pride RB3572 in the catalog but wonder if this is too...

    L3400 not starting

Hi guys. I have a 2007 Kubota L3400 that will not start. The last few times I noticed a short delay (maybe 1 second) when I turned the key to the start position before the engine rolled over and fired. Now I turn to the start position and nothing. I tested the switch and it works correctly...

    Tires Kubota L3400 Tire chains/clearance

Yup, take a look. I think it turned out very similar to the chain tensioners I almost bought on tirechains.com. Now I need to ask a buddy to use his machine shop to make my own spacers (as opposed to the $350 I was quoted to buy a set). Each cross chain ended up crossing one lug of the R4s...
