    Bolt on tie downs

Thanks, for the input guys. The tie downs from Bolt on Hooks, look idea but are out of stock. I put my info on their wait list. I found some bolt on D-Ring anchors with 12,000-lbs ratings, so a working load of 4000-lbs. But the bolt spacing isn’t quite right. Looking at possibly buying...

    Bolt on tie downs

The majority of frame connections on the T233 and T293, are bolted. And depending on what steel, at what heat treatment that steel has, bolts are better than welding, if you don’t have the ability to stress relieve the welds and re-heat treat the steel. So, I would rather stay with bolted...

    Bolt on tie downs

Does anyone know of a manufacturer of bolt on tie down points for TYM tractors? I chock the wheels, and then chain down the axles on my T233 and T293 when I need to trailer them, but it would be easier to tie it down if there were bolt on chain points, which bolt to the frame and have pressed...

    Lifting Bars - What Gauge/Thickness?

looking at the Porsche units, they deflect until they hit the floor pan of the vehicle. If yours will do the same and actually transfer load to the floor pan seam, then the 1/8th wall tube would probably work just fine. I'm traveling, and don't have access to the books I would need to refresh...

Off topic woodworking question re ultrasonic cleaners.

So, does anyone know of an ultrasonic cleaner with a tank large enough to submerge and clean ten or twelve inch diameter saw blades?

    Hardie Board Siding?

look at LP Smartside instead of Hardy. Hardy has issues with the silica dust when you have to cut it. The Smartside is cost comparable, and in my experience easier to work with. I would definitely strip the old siding. And install at least new vapor barrier, and reflash all the...

    T574 Seat Cushion Replacement?

The seat on my T233 was bad. I pulled the seat and went to tractor supply, and bought a generic replacement with the same mounting bolt pattern. Works great, the only issue is that it is just enough wider than the stock seat, that the seat belt is difficult to latch. Other than that no issues.

    Hydraulic SSQA idea

The other option is an electric linear actutator. DIY MyWay did that on his tractor.

    Way to bypass a relay?

Be careful with installing a Bosch cube style automotive relay. They are typically rated at 30-Amps. The starter will pull 100 to 300-amps. And, could easily burn out the contacts on a standard automotive relay. Look for a starter relay, with a high enough Amp capacity to handle your...

    Way to bypass a relay?

Entering the part number and New Holland in the Amazon search gets one for $45. But with a bit of wiring you can make most any starter relay work. But a relay base and new relay may be close to the $45. Basically a four pin relay has a ground, a control feed, power in, and power out...

    Way to bypass a relay?

Have you tried going to the local parts houses with the relay in hand, and see it they can match it up. A lot of the factory parts are a bit very over priced. I get most of my miscellaneous engine related parts, not as TYM branded parts, but asking the guys at the parts house for what will...

    TODAYS SEAT TIME

I'm envious of soil you can run a tiller, or plow in. We got 400-yards of rocks, and less than 100-yards of suitable 3-inch minus backfill, out of a trench. Most of the flat ground around here is prehistoric gravel bars, which is rock to rock contact with the voids filled with smaller rocks...

    Tornado/Storm Shelter - Underground

FEMA is a good starting place. The Forest Service, Forest Products Lab, has several designs for wooden storm shelters. The design intent was that they be built as add-ons or built-ins for existing structures. Search USDA Storm Shelter. Natural Resource Conservation Service, used to have...

SCUT cutting Fire Breaks, Best Tools?

Only thing I've ever seen one used for was to clean irrigation ditches. But I live in steep granitic mountains, and mechanical equipment is seldom used to cut fire breaks. So, the ones I have seen may have been repurposed.

LS Tractor Won't Start After Hooking Up Bush Hog

Problems with cranking: First try to crank with the headlights on and a helper. If the headlights dim when you try to crank, there is a battery or ground issue. Make sure the battery is in good condition, and the ground and power cable to the starter are good. Second, check the solenoid it...
