still having hot start prob- just noticed that there is about 1/4 of gas laying in front of choke butterflys when it is first shut down--------this can't be normal- what should i be checking-am novice on this mower gt245:mad:

Im having trouble with my jd mower- when i shut it off, it will not restart----pulled air filter and found about 1/4 inch of fuel laying underneath it- soaked it up with a paper towel, left it set about 20 min and it started right up-----has new sparkplugs, air filter, fuel filter------did this...

anyone running synthetic motor oil in their diesel-------supposidly better lub with lower wear if one believes the hype- if you are-what brand, how often do you change it and does it affect tractor performance--thanks -getting near time for maint and thinking this might be the way to go.

have a jd gt245 riding tractor-20 hp -twin cyl kawasaki------problem is -it starts fine but when the mower is engaged it wants to stall the tractor- pulled mower deck, all okay and free there, put in new sparkplugs and gas filter per manual-no help-any suggestions would be...

blew my 5th hyd hose tonight on the l 2500 ---i know, tract is 10 yrs old- am replacing with heavy duty Gates hoses instead of kubota---these look a lot heavier duty-----must be hoses have a lose date- have another 7 old ones still on so im wondering if i should wait until these fail or just...

the three point hitch on my l 2500 only starts up when the lever is almost all the way up--no movement through the entire range except at the very up position----everything seems tight- what am i missing?

dealer did not have stock to make up 3/8 so went to 1/2= replaced both hoses on the three pt hitch hydralics with these=seems to operate about the same-always been jerky-anyone see a problem doing this. thanks jimbo

my gt 245 has 654 hrs on it- it has been maintained correctly-what kind of life does this old gal have left her-----what kind of life can i expect from this engine :)

my gt245-starts fine when cold, when i run it for awhile and then shut it down, it will not restart-let it sit about 15 min and then it will start but not easily, get a puff of blue smoke and, runs rough for a couple minutes and then levels out-------kawasaki 20 hp-any ideas on where to start...

Talking to the local Kubota dealer and he said 80% of the tractors that come in for service have bad fuel filters. He said never mind the hrs just change the filter every year and a lot of problems will go away. Interesting :thumbsup:

whats the most rugged tooth bar out there-keep reading about pieces falling off and needing rewelded=any mfg out there that makes a product that will stay together?

just did the 400 hr change on the l2500 and when i ask for super udt I was told they do not carry it- said it was mostly used up north in the cold temps-what is the diff between the super and std udt--------curious

found the three drain plugs for the hydraulic fluid and my book shows two fill ports-one by the gearshift lever-other behind the seat-[not sure about this one and how one tells when these rear cavities have been filled sufficently] front cavity has a sight glass------anyone done one of...
