OEM Tractor Oil vs Shell, Valvoline, Amsoil, etc.

I need to share a cautionary tale. Not a bad ending but my dealer did right by me. I own a Massy GC1705 Hydro trans, I used a transmission oil the was non OEM it did however advertised that their met the spec. I worked my tractor hard but in my opion did not abuse it. I did all the routine...

    Rookie tractor buyer neds advice

The number 1 repeated suggestion "buy from a local dealer" The dealer you purchase from can make your life miserable or he can be easy to work with. Unless you do all of your own maintenance you will need a good dealer. I've owned an old ford a new Kubota and a used Kubota and now a Massey...

    Gooseneck or bumper pull?

Bumper pulls if not set up properly can get you into a wreck. a goose neck is the safest way to tow heavy. I think a bumper pull is easier to back but you can learn to back a goose neck also.

    Cleaning lawn of branches

This works about as well as anything I've tried, except moving LOL. I used to live in S GA and had lots of pecan trees over a 100 years old, the spring cleanup was a real chore. However we moved to N GA and it is no longer a problem, now it is walnuts.

    Time for a Zero Turn

I second the Ferris recommendation and also not the 60 or 72 inch models. a 48in will cut in 1/2 the time of a lawn tractor. No hills are recommended by the manufactures but you can cut on hills within reason. The SCAG recommendation is also a good one, my buddy has a SCAG that is 20 years old...

    pittsburgh bottom plow

Well this helps. I just added a new post with some new info. I removed the share and it had Star MF co stamped in the back of it and numbers HS 111 I think the stamping was light and rust has obliterated some of the letters.

Star Manufacturing Co. Plow share (point)

I recently purchased a bottom plow and need to replace the point. I am having a hard time finding one to fit. So the question is does anyone have a Star catalog. I found Star MF CO stamped on the back side with the numbers HS 111. Any help in identifying a replacement would be much appreciated.

    WAC finish mower

I traded for a WAC finish mower, I see parts for this mower and several others IE First Choice, Sicma, Kioti, Phoenix mentioned. If you have a WAC or one of the others and happen to have an owners manual I'd be eternally grateful if I could get a copy. I am refurbishing mine and it will be like...
