Thanks to all of you for the well researched replies. I have set a $3,000 limit, so I am probably looking to find a used one. My goal is to clean up the year long shedding of the trees and build a mulch mountain for the garden. $3,000 only buys about 6 pallets of mulch from HD.

I have a Ford 3930 and am wondering if it can power a PTO chipper without wearing out some critical component. Would I be better off buying a separate chipper? I plan to use it to chop trees that we clear for mulch. What's a reasonable price range for a used one? Thanks.

Did you check the fuel filter?

There are 4 cylinders total. Two rotate the bucket and two lift the arms. Having replaced the rotate the bucket cylinder, the lift the arms cylinder is now leaking. Does the viscosity if the hydraulic fluid matter in this context? Thanks.

Thank you tractor tech. Even with the FEL fully raised there is not enough clearance to swing the battery tray out because of the side braces. Looks like taking the battery out is my only option.

The right front tire on my Ford 3930 has a slight leak. I add air about once a week to keep the pressure at about 36psi. I have noticed that the side wall flexes and it loses most of its air when turning. Is that the sign that the tire (about 5 years old) has lost the will to live?

I found a local shop that rebuilt my cylinder for $200.00 I guess they must make their own seal kits. It's working great.
