It was a TORO GROUNDSMASTER 217D

I have some parts to build a rotary sweeper, and it would be simple to make a forklift and a lifting boom. I also have the original mower deck, but it would have to be converted to hydraulic drive or have an engine mounted on it. A fun build would be a digger similar to those yuo can use on...

Here on the right side you see all hydraulic controls. The front lever closest to the seat is the XY-lever controling both lift and tilt. Just behind is a lever that switch the tilt function over as an external function at the back of the tower. The hoses in the left lifting arm are connected...

Yes, it is connected to the tilt cylinder. When lifting it will keep the angle of the bucket constant. A good thing when using forks. This summer I also finished an electric lock using an actuator: This video shows both the electric locking pins and parallel movement when lifting.

It does not add any lifting power. :D You get one more chanse:

It was a TORO GROUNDSMASTER 217D

I took it apart for painting and some improvements. I made the hydraulic oil tank larger and added a breather valve. I bought a rear axle with hydraulic steering from a larger Toro. With all the extra weight power steering is a good thing. And getting the tower back on...

It was a TORO GROUNDSMASTER 217D

I made a smaller dirt bucket from an old snowblower. Early this summer we bought a playhouse and the TORO moved it into place.

Moving some heavy wet snow. It will get a bit light at the rear when I get about 360 kg ( 800 lb ) in the bucket. The hydraulics will lift over 400 kg ( 880 lb ) at the front of the bucket.

Some more pictures of the hydraulics as it was when I first bulit it. ( It is a bit more complicated now :confused2: ) And a video showing the tilt mechanism with the rear mounted cylinder.

Well, it seems like it want's to be a wheel loader ... time to get serious An hydraulic pump, and a new pulley on the flywhleel. A tower behind the seat. Got some parts laser cut. Building the lifting arms. And the tilt mechanism. * I...

Summertime and I needed a wheel loader instead. Very simple but it was much better than digging by hand.

It was a TORO GROUNDSMASTER 217D

It started snowing so I made a simlple snow plow. I had an old radiator and decided to make a slightley more serious snow plow from that. I used electrical actualtors to turn the blade.

Fabrication starts ... I removed this box ... I had to find a new place for the alternator. A new custom pulley that bolts to the TORO pulley. And it is running again!

It was a TORO GROUNDSMASTER 217D

After searching for another engine for a while I finally found a donor vehicle. The Ford engine was only 4cm ( 1.5 in ) longer than the 2 cyl Mitsubishi diesel.

It was a TORO GROUNDSMASTER 217D

I bought a TORO GROUNDSMASTER 217D with a minor problem. A connecting rod had punched a hole in the engine block. I took it apart.
