Adapting BCS quick hitch to generator

Hi there- I am considering modifying a bcs male quick hitch so that it could be mounted on a straight shaft generator head with a 7/8 inch shaft. Seems like this should be a very doable thing. Would be interested if anyone out there has some experience with this sort of thing specifically...

    three point adjustment question

Hi all- I have a Deere 790 compact tractor. Each draft arm has 3 holes from which to choose where to attach the lift arm to. I知 guessing you can trade off between lift height and amount of lift weight depending on which hole you attach the lift arm to. Question I have is do you get more...

    Help timing a baler

Hello- I'm new to balers and have recently obtained an old IH 420 baler. I had to replace the knotter drive chain and as a result have to time the baler. I have the operator's manual, but it lacks detail and can't seem to get things quite right. The manual states, I have set the needles...

larger tire options for bcs 852

Hi all- I am considering getting larger tires for my BCS 852. I'd like to do this to increase speed and ground clearances. I currently have the 5x10x20 tires. Looks like there are 2 options- 5x12x22 and 6.5x12x23. I figure bigger is better, but does anyone have any thoughts on reasons for...

    bcs 852 grinding

My bcs 852 sometimes grinds when I put it in gear, switch between reverse to forward and reverse and vice-versa, or engage the PTO. It doesn't do this all the time. At first I thought it was the clutch needing adjustment, but I tightened the cable way more that it should be to see if that was...

    winch implement?

Has anybody ever seen or made a mechanical winch (capstan or drum-type) for their 2-wheeled tractor? I'm looking into building my own capstan winch when it dawned on me that the BCS seems like a good fit to drive a winch. I have an extra tiller I might be able to repurpose its gearbox for...

    Grading with the BCS

PGC- Nice work. I've had the dozer/scraper blade for my BCS 852 for awhile, but haven't had the need or chance to use it yet. I think I will soon though. Do you have any tips for grading? I went looking for weights at Wal-mart and the local sporting goods stores. Besides the fact that the...

    help identifying pump

Hi all- Could anybody identify this hydraulic pump? It is a 2-stage pump that was installed on a log splitter. The only markings I could find are on the back of the unit. I think the marking reads 'CC 251 L'. I am in need of a seal for it. Thanks, Joe

    acme a220b carb question

Hi all- Just acquired a bcs 715 with an acme a220b. Wouldn't start when I got it, but took the carb off and cleaned it (full of gunk). This carb has two lines going into it. One from the fuel tank and one from the engine. I assume the one from the engine is a vacuum line. There are arrows...

    BCS 852 Tube/Valve Stem

My BCS 852 has some cracks in the valve stem causing a slow leak. I think this is a tube-type tire, but haven't actually checked yet. Can anybody confirm that 852's come with tube-type tires and if so, where I could get a tube and for about how much? thanks a bunch, joe.

    Rotating cylinder rod?

Hi all- I acquired a home-built log splitter with a pretty beefy welded-tee cylinder (3" rod). The rod has a hole drilled through for the pin that secures it to the block which pushes the wood. Anyhow, I had to have some seals fixed in the cylinder. When the cylinder came back from the shop...

    hydraulic pumps rpm

Hello- I'm a newbie when it comes to hydraulics. I'm hoping someone here can give me some advice. I'd like to build a log splitter that works off the PTO of my BCS 2-wheeled tractor. The tractor has a 13HP Honda motor which I'm thinking has plenty of HP. The PTO runs at 990 RPM. From what...
