New tires for the GT3100 - pictures

Carlisle All Terrains. Mowed for only 30 minutes tonight with the new tires, they do sure have a good grip! I had them at 15 PSI, a bit bumpy. I will try at 12 PSI next time I mow. They do look very nice, I am happy so far.

Removing rear tire on Cub Cadet

I didn't bring my tools with me to camp where my GT3100 is, so I couldn't do anything. I was assessing what needed to be done to remove the rear wheels of the tractor. Does this nut have to be removed first to remove the lug nuts? What size is that big nut, looks larger than 1 inch? Will that...

Oil & Fuel  3100 Oil Sentry

At 48 hours I changed the oil for the 3rd time since I bought my 3100 tractor. All was fine until the tractor hit the 50 hour mark today. The oil sentry light came on and the panel message flashes 'chg oil'. Oil level is good, the engine runs fine but I have no idea why the panel would be...

    Kohler Pre-Filter question

I installed a new pre-air filter on my 3100 yesterday, and ran the machine for 2 hours. I read the directions in the package this AM, and there are directions to rub 2 tablespoons pf oil into the pre-filter before installing it. I assume the oil is to make dirt stick to the pre-filter before...

Cub Cadet walk behind snow thrower

Any opinions on the Cub Cadet walk behind snow throwers? I am looking at 10HP, 26" Cub but I never see any feedback about them. I know they are made by MTD, but I frankly have never had issues with MTD products in the past and these throwers look pretty decent. Any feedback would be greatly...

Anyone know where the name 'Cub Cadet' came from?

It is a strange name. Anyone know how a tractor company name referencing a baby bear and an officer in training came about?

    2554 vs 3100

I'm looking to buy a 2554 or a 3100 with 54" deck. I am not a mechanical genius by any stretch, but I cringe when I look at the PTO belt twisted and contorted underneath the muffler on a 2554. To me this looks hokie and I trust the PTO belt on my SLT1554 more than the looks of the 2554...

    Value of used 3200?

I was at a Cub dealer and saw a 3200 series tractor (I think it was a 3204 from 1999 or 2000, not sure date of mfg). It had a 54" deck which is what I am looking for. 22HP Kohler which started right up, looked very clean and sounded great. Tractor had 526 hrs on it (snow bloiwing and mowing), a...

    Any feedback from SLT1554 owners

I have had my SLT1554 since June and have 17 hours on it so far. So far so good for me. I was just looking for any feedback from other owners of an SLT1554 to see how these machines are performing for them. I broke the parking brake lever the first day I had it by pushing too hard. That is the...

    Oil change in SLT 1554

I don't trust that little plastic spout and rubber hose (I have read previous horror story posts about engine oil changes in Cubs). The setup is not as bad as MTD snowblowers, but still looks like there is a huge potential for a mess. Has anyone used this thing to change oil in Cub Cadet lawn...
