How far is too far for driving tractor on the road?

I know a guy with a car hauler/rollback type truck who will haul a tractor 50 miles for $75... you might try an outfit like that. A lot safer, faster, less wear and tear on tractor, and less hassle than loading up and booming down yourself.

    skidding logs

I skidded several dozen logs out of my woodlot this year with a pair of skidding tongs chained to a round bale hay spear on a MF165... Worked like a charm. Even just a log chain on a hay spear frame will work and you don't even need to buy the tongs... They just make it easier.

Branson 7845 electric, wiring and fuse problems

The tractor did run four or five hours between time I got back from the dealer repair and the time the first fuse blew... if that detail helps

Branson 7845 electric, wiring and fuse problems

When I go to start position the dials/gauges light up. When I go to crank it and it starts the dash panel goes black. I suspected the larger fuses were a bad idea, but open to all reminders and corrections!

Branson 7845 electric, wiring and fuse problems

I've got a 7845. Had some problems unrelated to electric, took to dealer for repair, it came back with an auxilary electric fuel pump installed. Was running tractor and 5a fuse burned up that controls both the charging system and the control panel/dash/gauges, etc. Tractor runs fine but...

Tractor for land clearing and preparation

If you are hell bent on clearing the land yourself instead of hiring it out, I'd suggest buying a dozer, clearing the land, selling the dozer, and buying a tractor with the same money that you bought the dozer with.. You can get the job done faster and safer without destroying the tractor in the...

Advice on tractor for 7.5 acres - Mowing pasture and general use - L3902? What flail mower?

Others know more about the equipment... Here are a few critical tips if you've never run a tractor and are the sort of person who can go to school on other people's mistakes: Be super careful operating front end loader on hills, it is easier than you think to turn a machine over and a raised...

    Branson 7845 blowing smoke

I tried allowing the preheating system to preheat... It did not resolve the problem, still starts up and does not hit on all cylinders and smokes a ton for five to ten minutes before smoothing out and running as it should after being fully warmed up. That eliminates operator error! but it does...

    Branson 7845 blowing smoke

Dipstick was exactly where you described, but instead of having a yellow ring on it it had a black knob... making it even harder to see.

    Branson 7845 blowing smoke

I feel less like an idiot for not finding it after looking at the pics!

    Branson 7845 blowing smoke

I do not religiously wait for the preheat light, but do sometimes. Thanks very much for the tip on finding the dipstick.

    Branson 7845 blowing smoke

Long time reader, first time poster. This tractor has developed a strange problem... When I start it it will barely idle sounds like only one or two cylinders are hitting, will hit three or four times and die, but after starting about five times it will run. Blows grayish smoke that seems to...
