    Kubota L3902 weight/trailering?

It's an 18', 7000lbs trailer. Trailer sticker says the trailer weight is 19XXlbs. So i'll assume 2000lbs. The deck is 18ft 2x6's. Will reinforce it where logical and see what happens. Weather is getting bad (snow) but i'll get it in the shop one of these days and see.

    Kubota L3902 weight/trailering?

thanks for all the replies. i think i'll try and figure out how to put some 2x6's around the critical cross members and beef up the fold down ramp. it's not mesh but spaced "tubing" across the entire thing. might add something on top of the bed to help spread weight at tires even more. don't...

    Kubota L3902 weight/trailering?

@JWR ramp is one solid fold down aluminum piece like 4 ft long full width. would add something to the tire track area for sure on ramp. bed is treated 2x6 all the way. figured if i beefed up the cross members underneath where tires sit i might be all set? thanks.

    Kubota L3902 weight/trailering?

@Paystar yes, why i was asking about simple reinforcements. i could easily put some 2x6's on all the load bearing cross members and support the ramp. my logic says that'd add a lot of strength at the tractor tire points to help spread the load. @gstrom99 that's the question though. simple...

    Kubota L3902 weight/trailering?

I have a L3902 with the LA526 loader, HD quick attach bucket and loaded rear tires. I also have a 20ft double axle aluminum trailer rated for 5000lbs after trailer weight for toy hauling. Both are basically new and I recently bought some more acreage an hour away. With the new property I'm...

    Small farm hay project?!

If I use an old/cheap rotary mower and grind off one side it shoots it out rather quick and doesn't keep it inside that many rotations at all. I've heard and seen people do it successfully. I've never done it so maybe we'll see for real one day lol. Three reasons I like this. It's cheap, they...

    Small farm hay project?!

I've been mowing that field for the last 2-3 years just to slow/stop the weeds from taking over and seeding more. It was lumpy/bumpy and filled with milkweed years back, was probably corn for decades before, but native grass was getting stronger with mowing and taking out weeds. I've disced or...

    Small farm hay project?!

@redman135 Thanks for the input, we're running pretty small here so not even worth baling inside the current fencing, it'd be unfenced fields if we even did it, currently there would be nothing left after the goats ate it inside lol. I trenched in water last fall as well, 4ft trenching, what a...

    Small farm hay project?!

@CH4Ohio I'm gathering that sickles do suck or a pain unless brand new. I'm not planning on baling anything unless this seed I plant grows really well in this location for a while and I enjoy it. Will look into a haybine. Picking up loose cut shouldn't be too bad I'd think. I've seen/read...

    Small farm hay project?!

@zzvyb6 West mi, lot to be said for "self-satisfaction points". I get a kick out of being able to do full circle on the property. Fed, bred, birthed, butchered and cooked is the end goal. I also feel the lack of skills out there. Part of why I'm doing this. Not a pro in the trades or farming...

    Small farm hay project?!

@super55 Thanks for all the info. If I look at the cost analysis too much I shouldn't be doing any of this lol. The entire hobby farm thing is a total money pit. But I think it's worth doing for my family. My wife likes it and it's good for my young kids for many reasons, especially now days...

    Small farm hay project?!

I bought overgrown property, built a house a couple years ago and started a farm because I like to suffer I guess lol. There was nothing here before or it was so old it didn't count. Currently a lot of poultry and a dozen Boer goats (big meat goats) but will expand when my kids get a little...
