    Tree cutting accident

I just read the other comments, and that your friend had passed away. I'm sorry to hear that. I should add that the big willows with the widow makers are scheduled to be trimmed this winter when the ground freezes so they can get in with the big bucket trucks to trim the high branches. If the...

    Tree cutting accident

Trees are far more dangerous than many people realize, hopefully he makes a full recovery. I have a bad neighbor. Too long of a story for all the details, but earlier this year I was clearing along the property line of big acreage that we had recently purchased with a forestry mulcher. Nobody...

Getting clay mud off tires easily

I've found that some tires are more prone to collecting mud than others. On my tractor, it seems to stick no matter what, but my backhoe seems to shed most of the clay before I get to pull it in. I don't do anything different between them, my only thought is that it may have something to do...

Getting clay mud off tires easily

Granted, this was when I lived in semi-suburbia, but I got a ticket for leaving mud from my backhoe tires on a gravel road once. I got out of there as soon as I was able to. The township was totally corrupt and once they had you on their radar there was no escape.

Groaning sound in reverse in 4600 HST

Thank you. I'm guessing this requires splitting the tractor?

That will be one of the things I check!

Groaning sound in reverse in 4600 HST

I suppose if it still makes noise after changing all the filters and fluid I can drain the Hygard into a clean container and use it again if I have to split it and replace some parts.

Groaning sound in reverse in 4600 HST

I will tear it down including the strainer. Wondering if I should use the low viscosity Hygard in it. I live in Michigan after all, and I don't really use it for much pulling or pushing, mostly just moving hay and some pallet fork work. If I use the bucket it's for light duty since I also...

Groaning sound in reverse in 4600 HST

I picked up a JD 4600 this summer (I already had one and just wanted a familiar spare) and it runs pretty well (1400 hours) but in high range in reverse the HST really groans and doesn't have much power. Lower ranges seem to be fine, and high range in forward seems to be fine. I haven't yet...

Owner Dissatisfied With Deere Wants To Switch To Kubota

My answer to the timing bar so far has been an adapter plate converting from the JD quick attach to a standard skid steer quick attach. It adds some weight to the FEL but it's definitely more solid and no more sheared shafts. I have three JD tractors, 2 identical 4600's (I came across one for...

Owner Dissatisfied With Deere Wants To Switch To Kubota

August of 2019 purchase date, and it started blowing the hose off the rock shaft in September of 2021. Two year warranty. I had to fight to get them to cover it. Fortunately a service tech at the local dealer made me aware of the service bulletin regarding the problem since they were aware of...

Owner Dissatisfied With Deere Wants To Switch To Kubota

I have a nice Deere 4600 with 5000 hours. It was time to get a backup tractor so I purchased a 2019 4052r so I could use the same FEL attachments, plus I was used to the hydro pedals of the Deere and didn't want to mess with the treadle pedal of the Kubota. Overall I'm very disappointed with...

John Deere 4052M vs Kioti DK6010SE

I've had a 4052R for just a bit under 2 years now. I hate it! Anytime I need to get real work done with my compact tractor, I'll jump in my 20 year old 4600 (10 less HP). The paint started flaking off the FEL within a month of purchasing the tractor new. Underneath was a light coating of...

What do I do with this 8 month old John Deere tractor and loader

I purchased this John Deere 4052R tractor last August, pretty much fully loaded including aux hydraulic ports front and rear. It is always stored inside in a heated building, but I do take it outside to use it to feed hay to the cows and move some things around with the pallet forks. It is a...
