    Cool Nature Photos

We used to call those Purple Grackles when I was a kid. I remember plowing fields and they would land on the freshly tilled soil looking for food. Your picture shows the purple.

Battery based vehicles of today and tomorrow pt 2

I didn't form any opinion, I just didn't watch it. I've got better things to do than watch somebody that doesn't have enough sense to take a winter hat off inside.

Battery based vehicles of today and tomorrow pt 2

I started to watch it but felt that anybody that wears a winter hat inside the house may not have a lot of common sense. I wonder if she would put snow tires on the Tesla in Florida.

You Know You Are Old When

My dad used to show his age when he said he remembered buying gas for 14 cents/gal.

    Small farm hay project?!

Are there any other farmers making hay near you? If you develop a good hay field, they may be willing to make one cutting for you if they can take the rest. I've got seven acres here and a farmer down the road jumped on it here. He's probably making out but I only need about 300 small bales...

I thought I heard that Fisker was having some big financial problems. Did you have any concerns about that? There are no dealers around here and I don't believe I've ever seen one.

You Know You Are Old When

I remember my dad putting 10 gallon milk cans in water tanks inside the milkhouse to cool. I was too little for that heavy work. That didn't last long. Sold the milk cows and switched to beef(less labor). My sister's family now milk about 1500 and there's probably less physical labor there.

Are you looking to get rid of abandoned telephone landlines?

All of the old phone lines are buried here and aren't causing any problems so I doubt if anybody would dig them up to remove them.

    Status of Everything Attachments

Is this something that was just learned? Why were there no discussions about this a couple years ago? It seemed like EA could do no wrong and that they were good people until recently.

Battery based vehicles of today and tomorrow pt 2

I saw an article a couple of days ago about a bicycle trail that was going to be built for 11,000,000.00. The trail was to be funded at 80% by the Federal govt. and 20% locally. The last time I checked the federal govt. was in debt. Why should my Federal govt.(taxes that I pay) go deeper in debt...

How many still have a Landline in their home?

When Fiber Optic was installed the phone company pulled their hardware, so landline is no longer available here. VOIP is available from the fiber if you don't have a cell phone.

I guess you don't know people that live in shacks, they develop shacky hands.

25 Acres worth buying hay equipment?

I always thought that one forgotten expense for hay production was storage. If you don't have a barn for storage, forget square bales and round bales will need to be sold or fed asap. I now see a lot of round bales being wrapped with plastic. The wrapped bales must store good enough for horses...

What gear should i be travelling downhill when loaded?

I don't know how many acres you farmed but overall it seems like farming is safer now than when I helped on our family farm of about 500 acres back in the 60s and 70s. My dad would usually get me going on something easy and you learned on the job. He only lost half a finger during his lifetime...
