BX - If you've considered mulching blades

BX - If you\'ve considered mulching blades Looking to hear opinions on the design and shape of these mulching blades for the RCK60B-22BX.

BX - 54" deck cut better than 60" deck

BX - 54\" deck cut better than 60\" deck Has anybody else owned or used both the 54" deck and the 60" deck on the BX series? I had the 54" deck with mulching kit on a BX2200 that I sold. I now have the 60" with mulching kit on my BX23. In my case, the 54" deck did a better job than the 60" is...

    Pond aeration ideas

The small 1/2 acre or so pond we have is warming up and so it's time to get some aeration going. In the past, I got out for practically free using a 5 gallon bucket with holes and some type of fiber mat filter material on the outside with a small fountain pump I already had on hand. I used a...

Hard to catch pond catfish. Ideas?

Several years before passing, my Dad had a small pond dug, about a half acre. It was stocked only with channel catfish and bluegill perch. During the non-winter months, we feed them the floating food on a fairly regular basis. When the first generation of catfish got big enough to warrant...

    Sprinkler system question

I helped my now deceased Father install a water supply system that feeds a sprinkler system years ago. It picks up water from a creek and delivers it about 500 yards uphill to a 500 gallon tank. A high pressure pump delivers water from the tank to the sprinkler system. There are 11 stations with...

BX - Implement to spread asphalt?

Has anybody ever spread out asphalt, coal mix, oil dirt or other similar material using only the FEL? If so how did the job turn out? I'd prefer to use asphalt but was wondering how good of a job the BX would do while rolling over it and packing it. Maybe a front blade would do the best along...

    Another BX23 winning story

Took a little while to do it but this big Sycamore stump is now history thanks to the BX23 . What a learning lesson it was. This tree was too close to the back of the house and since the house was built in the mid 60's, over years in the past the tree had allowed the grade to build up. (My...

Sycamore stump removal - shallow or deep roots?

I began digging up a Sycamore stump this evening that is about 24" diameter. This thing will force me to take my time especially using a BX23. Glad I have this one only to do. I think I have about half of it done and what I found out so far is that the main side roots are fairly shallow. I am...

Sycamore stump removal - shallow or deep roots?

I began digging up a Sycamore stump this evening that is about 24" diameter. This thing will force me to take my time especially using a Kubota BX23. Glad I have this one only to do. I think I have about half of it done and what I found out so far is that the main side roots are fairly...

    Kinky spreader for BX

I picked this seeder/spreader up at a local TSC hoping it would work. The flex shaft definetly looks too long - I didn't even want to give it a spin. Good thing for the no hassle return policy. What a shame because the tag price was $322 and the manager sold it to me at a huge discount as it...

BX front tire - hot patch or tube?

What is the best fix for a turf tire on the front that took about a 3/8" diameter pine limb. I don't like to use plugs plus I dont think one would hold on this hole. Hot patch , tube or something else? I called a couple of tire places here and they did not recommend a hot patch.

BX23 "TOP" position of cutting height control

BX23 \"TOP\" position of cutting height control Anybody got an idea how to free up the knob on the cutting height dial? Mine is cranky about going in and out of the TOP position. All other positions are smooth. I am doing this just like I did on my BX2200 with the lift at full height position...

BX23 - mfg date vs sale date

Just to verify, if ever in the future I would want to sell my newly aquired BX23, I would represent it as a 2005 model to the buyer, right or wrong? I know the tractor was shipped new to the dealer in March of 2004 and I just bought it in March of 2005.

BX MMM - uneven on lift?

When I bought my used BX2200 last year, I noticed that when raising the deck up, that the right side always lifted an inch or two before the left side began to raise also. I really didn't think this looked right and thought it should lift evenly. I thought that the slack on the LH deck lift link...

    BX - His and hers

Not really, just wishful thinking. Bit the bullet yesterday on a new (2004) BX23. The BX2200 will have to go, I would have traded it in but I'm willing to wait it out for a better price. The BX23 is already dirtier than the old 2200. I had to nose it around in the dirt some yesterday evening...
