The downside of my batwing mower is the turning radius of the tractor. A spinning PTO with universal joints can't be turned in less than a 100' radius without blowing up the universal joints on the driveshaft or tractor PTO bearings.
Be on the lookout

I snapped the original smaller bar twice in 20 years. The heavier reinforced bar should last longer. It's the turning that creates most stress. I try to keep turns to a 100' radius.
I added the skids in addition to the tires with 8x8 angle iron.
Always keeping the front edge elevated to prevent plowing with the 3-point hitch controls.
Interesting mower design, hydraulically adjustable from 6 to 12 feet while running.
Made in Holland. Although the $12,500 price seems rather extreme.

After snapping the tow bar off the land lever twice, I rebuilt with a lot more steel.
Needed to be removable for transporting on a trailer. Land leveler is a 12 foot wide towable box scraper.
A lot of stress on the bar with every turn even when empty.
When I dump boulders out of the trailer, I now put the truck in neutral with parking brake on. The shock on the trailer against the truck when the boulders dropped snapped the parking pin pawl in the transmission.
It was an expensive repair.
I used some old skidsteer track to make a rubber pusher plate.
Adding 4 wings on each side.
Track was cut with a reciprocating saw with a 12 carbide blade, Outside, lots of smoke.
On the 70R deck, the shroud around the right blade protrudes below the front edge of the deck. This shroud got bent on a tree root when the deck cleared. Right blade started a metallic banging with sparks.
This right shroud is 1/2" lower in the middle from the other shrouds.
I might just trim...
No abusive usage here, just myself on a normal lawn.
Grass got stuck in the right front deck wheel preventing it from turning.
Didn't take long to put a flat spot on it.
Rear deck wheels are held by single flange, already bent.
Needs two flanges or thicker steel.
