Well that was easy, new seal seems to have done the trick. Sat all night and still dry after a bit of a workout. I suspect it was just a substandard seal since the replacement had twice the structure....

Came apart with little effort and cleaned up nicely and does not appear to have any surface issues. New seal here tomorrow or Tuesday.

I've noticed the broken shaft stub and the one noted as #6 in the pic don't really match up with the trip pin facing 2 different directions.

I'd bet a good machine shop could repair the 4wd shift lever, were you able to recover the broken piece.
