Mid-Mount Drive Belt Is Flopping Around (Video)

The back of the belt is on the idler, and it is most definitely tensioning the belt. The picture isn't very good, but the tractor is in another state and that was the only one I had of the belt routing. I'm going to start with the tension spring, since that has been monkeyed with in the past.

Mid-Mount Drive Belt Is Flopping Around (Video)

I should also add, that I realize in the video the belt looks super floppy, but when it is stationary on the mower it is nice and tight like you would expect it to be. Maybe not tight enough, but it definitely isn't loose.

Mid-Mount Drive Belt Is Flopping Around (Video)

This was actually my reason for the post. I wasn't sure if this was a design issue that needed to be corrected or if I just had the wrong belt / spring setup. Is was only at about 1000 RPM when I recorded it. I'll check it again at pto rpm and see if it tightens up.

Mid-Mount Drive Belt Is Flopping Around (Video)

Thanks to everyone who replied with suggestions (y). I’m going to rebuild the spindles this winter so I’ll take care of the belt issue while I’m at it.

Mid-Mount Drive Belt Is Flopping Around (Video)

Sorry, its a BX2200 with about 700 hours on it. The mid-mount deck says its an RCK60B. I'm sure its been doing this the whole time, but I wasn't paying attention to it until it shredded a belt. The pulley is free to move, but someone has definitely welded on the hook the holds the spring to the...

Mid-Mount Drive Belt Is Flopping Around (Video)

Guys, see the video and picture below. The drive belt on my mid-mount deck seems to be moving around way too much. I picked this unit up about a year ago and gave it a once over when I got it home. The spindles could probably use new bearings, but they're not awful. What concerns me, is I can...

Lets talk about the MT5 Series

I'm in the market for a new tractor and I've narrowed my search down to an LS MT573, Kubota 7060, and a New Holland Powerstar (T4) 75. I've done a TON of reading and have looked at all of them. The MT573 is definitely my favorite. It has everything I'm looking for, its the most comfortable, and...
