It's still a safety issue. If that sub frame fails under load and somebody gets hurt the inspection mechanic would be held responsible. When the State Police get involved hear say and ignorance go out the window.

First off, if your mechanic is ok with an exhaust leak and that weak frame passing inspection he's on the verge of loosing his inspection license if he passes that for inspection. I'm a shop owner, I have a PA state inspection license, and I have owned an F-450 4x4 dump truck with a stainless...

One thing to watch out for: the exhaust manifold bolts are bad about rotting off and breaking. It's a nightmare repair and expensive.

I used 0.06" Thick x 0.5" Hole x 0.6875" Stagger Carbon Steel Perforated 2' x 3' Sheet. It's easy to work with and with bracing it's very stout.

That looks well made but since I have some heavy brush to clean up I had my reservations when it came to an expanded metal brush guard after seeing this.......... I wasn't too worried about the lighting through the perforated steel plate. I plan on additional lighting for my rops.

I don't have an L4760 but I do have an L2501 and brush guards are similar. Here's one I just fabricated for myself.
