Longer bar for Stihl M261 - relative novice.

I have run a MS 260 for years. I have a 16" bar and a 20 bar. I went to the dealer with similar desires as yours and asked about a bigger bar. they recommended the 20 would be the largest to run on that saw. It has performed well. I recently stepped up to the MS 462 to handle the bigger...

    Woods BB 720

I have run this cutter since 2016. yesterday I hit a log buried in the grass. Right away the mower began to shutter and vibrate the whole tractor after resetting. At first I thought I had something underneath the cutter which would spin out. That was not the case. On closer inspection, the...

    Best and worst chainsaw?

I have had a Sthil MS 260 for 20 years. Still cuts extremely well. It can run a 16" to 20" bar no problem. I recently purchase a larger saw, the 400C with a 25" bar. I was looking for a back up saw when one dulled up on me while working. A little larger also to cut larger trees. However, I...

    Tractor decision

I have a massey 1760, it is a good tractor, I also have a Kioti RX7325. I would strongly suggest looking at the Kioti in the same size you are looking at. When shopping for my Kioti, I looked at larger Massey's and Kubotas. They were more expensive and I could get heavier tractors and more...

    Suggestions on 20” pro saw

I have had a 260C for close to twenty years. Still running strong. Great machine would highly recommend it. I think it will suit your purpose very well. Only reason for me to get a new one would be because of age not operational issues. I believe the 261 is the newer model number for this...

Buying Advice Cab or no cab?

I was like you skeptical. a good friend of mine mentioned I was no spring chicken anymore and should get a cab. I have two tractors currently. one is open station and the other I bought last year is a cab. The last two weeks we have had over 100-degree temperatures when I was shredding...

Anyone go from gas to electric, then back to gas?

Alot of that may be where you are located and the restrictions placed on the companies and equipment. Out door tools I have stayed with gas. Use electric for drills and shop tools. That seems to have worked well. I would agree from the outdoor electric tools I have seen they would be fine...

    Yanmar Tractors

Called the other day, they are dropping the JD franchise and moving to Yanmar. Quite a few JD's still on the lot with a few Yanmars. All the talk seems to be correct on the effect Yanmar is having on the smaller tractor market and JD dealers.

    Yanmar Tractors

Not positive they are losing it yet. it is still early. they have both on the ground right now. We will see how it evolves and signs get replaced.

    Yanmar Tractors

Dealer is in Denton Texas. Lawn Land. The JD sign came down this week. Not sure if they are modifying for JD and Yanmar or replacing JD. This dealer is not carrying the heavy duty field tractors so much as the 75 and under HP tractors. It is a good store and purchased many items, sthil from...

    Yanmar Tractors

Just noticed our JD dealer has fewer JD's and is now carrying Yanmar tractors. Based on what all are saying this may be a good move for them.
