Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

Finally tested out my blower. It seems to work pretty well.

Snow moving. Not as easy as I thought

Here's a few more photos: This shows how the blade can move up and down off the SSQA plate and also how it can oscillate (rotate) around the center bolt. One good thing about rotation is that it can correct for the tilting of the blade when it's angled. And a side view of the rubber...

Snow moving. Not as easy as I thought

What works for me when the gravel drive isn't frozen over is a tall rubber edge on my front plow. The rubber edge bends backwards when moving forward and just sweeps over the gravel. My new front blade floats independently from the SSQA plate and it also has lateral oscillation. I just set...

If you want to pull a bunch of stumps get a mini ex. Good to have a separate tractor and mini ex.

    Snowblower auger chain question

The auger chain on the Puma is pretty much painted over with red paint. I think it will all fall off if I run the PTO. Is this chain supposed to be lubed like a bicycle chain with chain lube?

Bucket for Kubota KX057/U55 with quick coupler

I have a 12" bucket and a 24" bucket for a U55 and want to get a 16" bucket that will work with the factory thumb. Kubota has a 18" bucket but the teeth aren't supposed to mesh with the tips of the thumb. The diagrams of the buckets by USA and Werk Brau for a mini ex of this weight show the...

    Hydraulic top link question

Thanks for all the replies. I put all my implements on dollies and the snowblower will go on one too. I'll make it so the blower is leaning a bit forward when sitting on the dolly so the top link mount on the blower will be lower and closer to the tractor. I think what's causing the problem...

    Hydraulic top link question

Does anyone make something to give the top link an extra inch or two? Seems like a little extra length would come in handy once in awhile. Thanks!

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

No, my brother and I converted our sportsroof '69 race car into a Shelby clone. It was a lot of work and it was hard finding some of the trim parts but we did all the body work and paint in his garage. This was the car before the conversion:

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

Got the new Hiniker front blade together and the Puma blower was delivered just this morning. Got the Puma mounted on the tractor to check PTO length and amazingly the length was fine. Put fittings on the hydraulic chute rotation cylinder and got some hoses ordered. What are the chains...

    Snowblowers and gravel driveways

Is it best to wait until the gravel freezes solid before using a snowblower? I assume that if the gravel is still loose and the 3 point is set on float even with the skid shoes, the blower will ingest a lot of gravel and cause shear bolts to break. How would a blower work if it is held up an...

Anyone have a Puma 84 with hydraulic chute rotation?

Just ordered one and was told it doesn't come with hoses so do you know what size hose fitting fits the hydraulic cylinder?

Front snow blade and weight of rear snowblower

I'm going to use my front snow blade as the primary snow mover and a rear snowblower as a backup. The front blade is a Hiniker that weighs around 430lbs. How heavy can the snowblower be before it starts affecting the handling of the tractor when using the snow blade? The tractor is an MX5800...

    Everything Attachments Snow Blower

Seems like a nice unit with good specs. I'm thinking of buying the 74" blower for my MX5800. Anyone have any experience with an EA snowblower?

    Time for Chainsaw Chaps

I always try and wear my Labonville chaps and Matterhorn kevlar lined boots when using a chainsaw. A couple summers ago there were a lot of yellow jackets bothering me and I got distracted and nicked my chaps with the saw. I think I was lucky to be wearing them.
