Have I been using my weed trimmer wrong?

I thought you were supposed to hold onto the little round part that holds the strings and tape the throttle trigger down. That way you don't break the strings! 🤣😁😂

    Suggestions for tree removal

I understand rur I understand rural. When we picked up this place about 10-15 years ago we were told that in about 4,000 acres area that we increased the population significantly - up to a total of 1 dozen (yes, 12). I think since COVID we are probably at ~20. We tell folks we aren't out in the...

    Suggestions for tree removal

I agree with CalG with this one addition. If you can't get your tractor close enough on the back side if the fence, and you don't have the lift height on your bucket to hold the tree with a strap. You might consider using what looks like a tree covered in vines at ~1 o'clock (poss poison...

Sthil Commercial Line Trimmers with 4 Cycle engines (still require 50:1 fuel/oil mix) - any experience

Like you, I'm having some serious issues (possibly just mental, though) about A) A 4 stroker with mix and B) the lack of an oil sump. I get it though, diesel is just a dirty mix of oil & a form of gas (yes, I know that's a stretch) without sumps and 2 strokers don't have sumps. I guess my...

Universal Quick Attach Bucket Dropped on Both Feet

You were lucky, I have a piece of left over 2 or 2 1/2 conduit that's about 4' long I keep in the tractor behind the seat. I use that to open the quick attach - it always closes really easy though, go figure! 🤣😁😂

    Bringing home the bacon!!!

I have many times with many different brines. I think the best tasting, but really unconventional was soaking it in a mixture of red wine, orange juice and soy sauce - with pink salt, and other spices (pepper, garlic, etc, etc) for several days to a week. Turned out really yummy. Dry rubs, for...

    Should I buy this truck?

That actually looks, and sounds like a mighty fine truck that you found considering your budget. Just in case it doesn't work out, several years ago I was looking for a similar vehicle - I have no need now. What I found that seemed to be the most cost effective were old cement trucks. Most are...

Zero turn vs. 4X4 tractor for mowing

After reading through most of these posts, I think my 2 cents might make some sense. I have a Bad Boy ZT Elite 60" I use it for the areas that aren't wet on about 7 acres. As others have mentioned already, ZTs really, really do Not like anything slippery, e.g., wet ground. Anything soft (from...

I Won't Operate My Equipment in Wet Weather

This is NOT a slam, but I am curious. How do you do this? I end up having to go out and plow snow, dig out drainage ditches during storms, etc, etc. I am pretty sure most, if not all of my equipment (Tractors, backhoe, implements, etc) has been out in just about every type of weather - I do...

How do farmers make any money?

Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but I am under the impression that only Row Croppers (oh and Green energy, if you call that farming) get subsidized. So, if that is correct, are you saying that there are only 10% of the farmers out there that produce critters? e.g., Beef, Pork, Poultry, etc...

How do farmers make any money?

'Round here, there's a saying about row croppers. It goes like this: Why is the row croppers hat bill really narrow and curved? Because they always have their heads in the mailbox - looking for the check. This joke/saying comes from Govt checks sent to row croppers to not plant parts of their...

Does anyone have an easy way to remove snow from equipment after use

I use some pretreatment for both mud & snow on plows, blowers, etc. I have a plethora of "sliding" compounds I use for woodworking such as Johnsons paste wax, glide cote, Teflon spray, etc, etc. For my area glide cote & Teflon seem to work best - and last the longest between coats. I have friends...

Buy a regular one and run over it a couple of times, it will probably look similar anyway! :)

    parts at outrageous prices

Well, it is for a Case afterall. Doesn't Case figure pricing on things like this by adding together the fractional diameter - this pin is 5/16, add both together (5+16) you get $21! See, Complete Tractor is a full $1 below retail, what a bargain! BTW, same pin on Ebay is $24 😁😂🤣

    parts at outrageous prices

Here's a bad one. The FEL on my Mahindra 2555 cab controller/joystick broke the small plastic/bakelite piece that holds the cables for the valve controls. Mahindra only sells the entire joystick assembly (~$1,000 Not Installed!) and I haven't found a 3rd party unit. The other pieces are just...
