Oil & Fuel  Cold Weather Oil Change

Here's my problem- Doing my 250 hour maintenance on 425 w/ Robin engine and changing engine oil and filter. It's been cold so I warmed it first and then drained the oil and removed old filter. Left it overnight to drain. Put on new filter and plugged drain next day. While filling with oil...

    Robin Engine Charging Capacity

The manual for my EH72 engine says the charging capacity is either 15 amps or 30 amps. Anyone know how to tell the difference without taking it apart? Jack, are you out there?

    Need Help with Robin Engine

I'm having a problem with my 425 Robin engine-- she starts and runs for 3 to 15 seconds and then stops. I suspect it is starved for fuel but hate to randomly try solutions. Here is some background- -My 425 is the newest model with 50 hours on it. -I've been having a minor problem with fuel...

    Newbie Questions

Can anyone offer words of wisdom? --I am rapidly approaching 20 hrs, when the Robins manual says to do the first oil change. Can anyone give any pointers about how to collect the drained oil in the bottom of the PT without making a mess? --I've found that when I'm greasing the zircs, that...

    A PT and a JD

One of the first things I was able to do with my 425 was to assist in an Boy Scout Eagle project moving mulch and stone for the boys to place and spread. One of the other dads had a JD 855 there. All the boys thought the PT was cool. After the tractors had worked side by side for a couple...

Does Anyone have a Power Dumper?

I'm looking for some feedback on it's capabilities....the 425 model says 35 cf capability, but how about weigth? For stone, that'd be over a ton on two wheels, does it get bogged down? Looking at the picture on the web site appears that the quick attach plate is not part of the trailer...

    Wood Splitter

Check out the wood splitter on this web site looks like it would be great on a Power Trac. I wonder why they haven't done that attachment yet? I might have to do it myself....

    My Trip to Tazewell

My son and I spent the day at Tazewell yesterday. It's a 6 hour drive, so we took advantage of their free overnite deal and were able to get an early start with Scott in the morning. I knew that they were out of 425s, so my goal was to actually see one and decide whether to order one before...

    425 to get Robbins Engine

Called Tazewell today to schedule a visit to see a 425. Scott said that I can visit but they're all out of PT-425s and won't have anymore until end of June. And when they do, they will have changed to the Robbins engine. I wonder if they'll do any other changes?

    PT abuse?

I've been in the crux of the "tractor decision" for some time now, and would like to get some balanced perspective: I am definitely leaning towards a PT purchase, but every time I think I've got my mind made up, there seems to be another post from someone about a problem. Recent discussions of...

    PT425-- How noisy?

I've read through various part of the forum that indicates PT is not exactly the most quiet machine on the market. I don't expect it to be quiet, but what will the neighbors think of me on a weekend morning? I'm comparing to a BX2230, a MF GC2300, and a NH TZ24D (least noisy). Can anyone...

    Used L2350

I have the opportunity to buy a 1996 L2350 with 484 hours. It is 4x4, not HST, and includes a Woods 155 FEL and Woods 7500 BH. Owner says a tree fell across the bucket causing some minor dents and front body damage. Not the cleanest looking machine but it started right up. Owner will throw...

    Wife says go ahead!

After weeks of careful discussion, my wonderful bride finally said OK after a visit to the Kubota dealer to look at the beautiful orange machines. I now find myself in a state of shock because I can't decide what to get. Any advice appreciated: Planned use for 3 acre riverfront lot...
