    Studs for snow plowing

Studs work on hills up to a point but chains work better. Chains on asphalt on hills will tear up the asphalt if the tires do start spinning. The goal is to not let tires spin but sometimes you can't always meet all the goals.

    Studs for snow plowing

Studs and chains will both cause some damage. I put studs in my tractor and buried them pretty deep. They seem to do well in all but the iciest conditions. I also studded my skidsteer tires but left the studs out a bit. They tore the crap out of my ashpalt but worked well in the thick ice...

    Problem with Getting Mahindra Parts

Part of the problem is that Mahindra doesn't seem to support their dealer network very well. Out here on the west coast the dealers are always changing and that doesn't make for re-assuring customer service. I recently got a used Kioti and have been pleasantly surprised at how good the dealer...

    Septic issue

I had the same issue as the OP. I had to dig up and replace the distribution box (mine was cracked) and then play with the dial adjusters to get the water flowing evenly. Been 10+ years and all is working well.

Gripstuds vs igrip which is better

Longer studs will damage asphalt more. If you have enough weight you don't need them to stick out too far.

    Family vehicle tracker recommendations

Otherwise, Life360 is pretty good but you do need to be able to make sure you have admin control over the kids phone so they can't disable it.

2000 lb or 4000 lb pallet forks?

One thing to consider is that you can get really wide fork carriers too (if you search around). While you probably are going to have to get something that is rated for more than what your tractor is rated for, the extra width can be really useful for moving long floppy things like tree branches...

    Rural porch pirates: ideas?

Both Fedex and UPS have apps that will notify you of deliveries coming and when they have been delivered. I have a gate and guard dogs so I don't want delivery drivers coming into my property. I stuck a big plastic garbage can behind some bushes to the side of the gate and trained the drivers...

Trailer choice before I make a mistake

Just to re-emphasize. If you are getting a bumper pull and going to be near or at your max weight make sure to get a weight distribution hitch. They make a ton of difference in the drivability.

Trailer choice before I make a mistake

Here's the official specs: https://www.fleet.ford.com/content/dam/aem_fleet/en_us/fleet/towing-guides/Ford_Linc_12RVTTowGuide.pdf Page 18 is what you want to look at. Depending on how and where you are towing you might be able to fudge it a bit with a weight distribution hitch and/or some air...

    Screw in Tire Studs

I just ordered some screw in tire studs from these guys: MaxiGrip Ice Studs Pricing was reasonable for~$70-85 /100 I'm hoping to not have to use my chains as much this up coming winter. The chains sure make a mess of my asphalt driveway. Thought I would pass the info along in case anyone...

40 Foot Ladder Mover FEL Attachment?

I have a 40 foot ladder that I need to use for projects around my house. Anyone that has used a 40 ft ladder knows how hard they are to move. I typically have to ask a neighbor to help me move it and set it up. I've been thinking of making an attachment for my skid steer compatible FEL that...
